I purchased meal vouchers from e-bay (wait! I got them for $11.50 each!). I paid through PayPal on the day that I won them (May 13th) and the money is still sitting there. I've never had this problem before. I have sent two e-mails and have received no response. How long should I wait?

First, did you receive a receipt for payment?
If not, you need to resubmit the money.

Second, I hope you tell the seller exactly when you need them.
I bought some on e-bay (14.25 with free shipping) and they took 3 1/2 weeks to arrive.

Lastly, becareful with paypal accounts. I use mine all the time but, as I posted somewhere else, I sometimes get fake e-mails asking for personal information to update my account. The sites look pretty real until you examine them closely.

Good luck and c-ya real soon...

It shows on my PayPal account page as unclaimed. Maybe I should cancel it until I hear from him/her.

Did you pay by credit card? If so maybe the receiver does not have a paypal account that accepts credit cards.. The receiver needs to accept that money. Sounds like they haven't looked at their account or they do not want to accept it because it was paid with a credit card.

Try sending an email that does not go through ebay. Sometimes their email system is kooky. I got a message the other day that had been sent 6 days before. I have had your situation happen to me, and when I sent an email on my own (not going through ebay) they responded.

GOOD LUCK

Did you get any kind of notification from the seller, after the auction closed? Some sellers have their Paypal account under a different email address, for some reason; an "unclaimed" payment has something wrong somewhere. Email the seller through eBay's "ask the seller a question", and maybe they'll answer that.

I sold a purse once, and the buyer made a typo in my Paypal address. She kept emailing me, telling me that Paypal told her I would have to open an account to claim the payment, and demanding to know what Paypal told me. I think she was mentally "challenged" because after a few days, her sister emailed me, told me there was a typo, and made the correct payment. I could tell something wasn't quite right, so I tried to be very patient with her, and I was glad later that I had.

The payment is "unclaimed" because the person either has a personal account (which does not accept credit cards) or has their account set to wait for acceptance if a buyer uses a credit card, the buyer has an unconfirmed address, or is unverified.

If you do not hear from them tomorrow I would cancel the payment and send them an email explaining that you are doing so. Not everyone is at their computer every day so they may just not have gotten your email yet.

If you do not hear from them by day 7 I believe you can file a nonperforming seller report with ebay.

The seller actually sent me an e-mail saying that he/she was closing the account currently associated with e-bay and gave me another address to send it to. I have sent an e-mail to both addresses to let seller know that the money is there.

It wasn't with a credit card. It comes straight from my bank
account.

I'll give it until Friday and then cancel it.

Thanks for all the responses!

Edited to add that she finally sent me an e-mail today. She thought she already had the money and that my vouchers have already been mailed.

Thanks for the help!
