Just wondering if anyone of yous own one, and are they actually worth the money. Me, myself, I wouldn't spend all that money on one but DD 18 works at a store and right now employees can buy one at a huge discount.

I'm cheap ... and always bought cheap vacuum cleaners .... and yes they always broke. Finally bought a Dyson and love it. Very happy with it!

Best money I have spent! Works as good 4 yrs later as it did the first day I got it.

Yes. We had a central vac for years and the Dyson works far better.

love my Dyson. I got it a few years ago and it works great. We have 3 cats, an Australian Shephed and a Great Pyrenees. The Dyson works great on all the pet hair that we have. I had a Kenmore before this and it would leave hair behind, especially when our Pyr blows out his coat, but the Dyson sucks it all up.

We bought our Dyson Animal on a store employee discount offer and loved it so much, we bought a Dyson hand-held the next time an offer came up. Ours is over 5 years old and still works as well as the day it came home.

I love my Dysons!

Love it :lovestruc

(Previous to the Dyson, I had a 50 yr old Hoover :scared1: It was heavy and smelly)

My aunt in UK has used a Dyson for 20+ yrs on her carpets and they look like new! :goodvibes

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Dyson. Works SO well. We have the first generation Dyson, and it can be heavy and awkward at times, and it doesn't really get in certain places, but I still love it. We have 2 long hair cats and you wouldn't be able to tell because this vaccuum sucks up everything. When we need to replace it, we won't buy anything but a Dyson.

It sucks.....no..really..it sucks...everthing in sight. Love my Dyson

Wow, everyone really seems to  their Dysons!

We contemplated getting one, but just ended up getting a cheap one a few months ago and it doesn't suck, literally. I am thinking maybe I will need to pick one up on our next trip across the border. They seem to be so much cheaper in the US.

Does anyone recommend any particular model over another?

When we bought our first house and had to buy a vacuum cleaner my DW and I argued over this. I said we should spend the money on the Dyson because it is well made and high quality. She said it was a waste of money and bought a $150 upright instead. It lasted two months before it broke. Being the good husband I am I never said "I told you so". I quietly went out and replaced it with a Dyson. That was four years ago and the vacuum is as good today as it was when we first bought it. We are amazed at how much dirt this things sucks up. Well worth every penny.

We have a Dyson too and will never buy anything else. Ours is the Animal, because we have two dogs that shed everywhere. The vacuum will actually restore the nap in your carpet the first time you use it. It's highly impressive.

I have the standard Dyson, older generation (not the ball) and it works great even getting all the hay we have in the room that houses our two rabbits! It is VERY easy to clean out too, for the few times when it does get clogged (I suck up a lot of hay!)

5 years, 3 shed-heavy dogs, 2 kids(6&3), and several renovation projects later our Dyson Animal is still the best appliance we've bought! :lovestruc

We think ours is the bee's knees. I am not normally on this forum, but saw the title and had to put in my input. We have had ours for 3 years now, and it is still working wonderfully. That is longer than any other vacuum we have ever had. In fact, my husband said that he will only agree to buying a Dyson from here on out. Definitely worth the investment.

It looks like I am in the minority. I hate the ding dang thing. Having only had canister vacs in the past,I guess I shouldn't have bought an upright. Long story very, very short, yes, it does have excellent suction, but that is all it has in my opinion. I feel like I am fighting with it all the time. I find the wand way too short when I am using the floor tool. I would like to be able to alter the suction in order to go over small area rugs or bathroom rugs without demolishing them. Hate doing the stairs, the stair attachement just doesnt work, so I get on my hands and knees and use the fabric attachment on the stairs, but I am constantly geting my hand pinched by the hose recoiling. Everyone is thrilled about having no bags! I just dont get it. What I wouldnt do to have a bag! With two cats, it constantly has to be dumped, but the stuff wont come out. I have to stick my hand up it and pull out the nasty hair and dirt! Sure, its intriguing to see the dirt it picks up, but I dont want to have to stick my hand in it! I try to ensure I dont overfill it, but it still takes alot of shaking and mess to get it to dump out. What a mess. I feel like I have to vaccum again after trying to dump it . There is more to a vacuum than suction, and the Dyson just isnt worth the money in my opinion.

We have the ball Dyson, the orange one, and MIL has an even higher-end one, its yellow - not sure of the model. I`ve tried both and LOVE ours, but the more expensive one is miles beyond ours. My advice to you would be to get the highest end Dyson that you can afford. It is money well spent!

Today's deal on woot(dot)com is a refurb Dyson DC25 All Floors vacuum for $290 + $5 shipping USD. (There is sales tax to NY) Need to have US address or Ameri-friend. Take CDN credit cards if you register. Considering picking one up myself, but the reviews seem to point to a reliability issue.

Love my Dyson. I've had it about four years now. It even survived my husband trying to vacumm out the bbq (don't recommend it). I liked it so much my parents and brother went and bought one too.

I've had my Dyson for 6 years. I have the yellow one. This is the first year I had trouble with it not picking up like it normally did. Turns out I needed a new belt and some new filters, and a routine maintenance. This is also the first year my house has occupied 4 cats and my Dyson has been working overtime! Now it runs like brand new again! I love my Dyson and think it is a great investment.
