I thought I'd ask you creative folks
about dyeing lampshades. Anyone ever do it? I have two white ones, and I redecorated the living room, and basically want the same style lampshades, but I'd like them a color...a beige, or gold-ish, or even tea stained. I read a little online about the possibility of the hot dye bath melting the glue holding on the trim. I guess if that happens, I'll just chuck them and buy new ones, but I'd at least like to give it a shot.
Or maybe I should do some sort of painting on them? Fabric paint???
They're 6" across the top, 14 across the bottom, and 11 up/down. I think they'd fit in our lobster pot.
Any suggestions? I'm kind of lost, and not even sure what options exist.
I plan to spray paint the base, but I haven't decided on that color yet...perhaps a hammered metal.
TIA
