This is our tentative plan for May 20-27. We are planning on DXDP we are just trying to decide to take the plunge. We are too many ADRs over on the DDP so for us an upgrade makes sense.

The cast: Me (36), DH (39), DD (4), DD (2).

The Facts: We love to eat but don't eat much. We are doing DxDP because our kids like the characters and we would rather spend time with them at restaurants than in the parks. With our kids being so little we wanted to make sure we had a place in the AC to eat, buffets preferably. They can only handle a few hours in the park at a time.

Our Goal: Portion control... think it will work?

Here is the tentative list:

Friday, May 20 arrival:
Dinner: Whispering Canyon

Saturday, May 21:
Breakfast: 1900 Park Fare
Lunch: Liberty Tree (maybe)
Dinner: Tonys

Sunday, May 22:
Breakfast: Capt'n Cooks
Lunch: CRT
Dinner: Crystal Palace

Monday, May 23:
Breakfast: 'Ohana's
Lunch: Raglan Road (or Earl of Sandwich)
Dinner: Akershus

Tuesday, May 24:
Breakfast: Hollywood and Vine
Lunch: Mama Melrose
Dinner: 1900 Park Fare

Wednesday, May 25:
Breakfast: Tusker House
Lunch: AK CS
Dinner: 'Ohana

Thursday, May 26:
Breakfast: Kona cafe (or Captain Cooks)
Lunch: CS or Beaches N Cream
Dinner: Beirgarten

Friday, May 27:
Breakfast: Chef Mickeys
Lunch: CS if any leftover credits

Looks good! But, we love to start our vacay with Chef Mickey's!:rotfl::banana::cheer2:It really sets the mood for the rest of our trip!

how do I change my main title I meant to put tentative schedule on the top.

You may not be at all interested, but here's my take on your plan! Take it for what it's worth and ignore it completely if you don't care what I think! :thumbsup2 fwiw, we did deluxe dining a few months ago with two kids (ages 5 and 3), so we're a similar group to yours!

Friday, May 20 arrival:
Dinner: Whispering Canyon
-we loved this, great choice! are you staying at WL?

Saturday, May 21:
Breakfast: 1900 Park Fare
Lunch: Liberty Tree (maybe)
Dinner: Tonys
-loved 1900 park fare, sounds great. be advised, though, that if you're staying somewhere other than GF, it will eat into your park time to have a breakfast ressie at a character spot. that's JMO!

-I also think the Liberty Tree ressie is great, because you'll be glad for the air conditioning and you'll need a break on MK day! the only downside here is that you may not be too terribly hungry yet coming off of a large breakfast at a buffet. if it were me, i might move this to later in the afternoon or even in the early evening and just use a few snack credits for lunch/something to tide you over. this will also allow you to have eaten pre-fireworks so you can scope out a good spot!

-I hated Tony's. HATED it. the a/c was too cold (so we were freezing!), the marble everywhere made it super loud/echoey. the food was just not very good (i had chicken parm and it was nasty). it took FOREVER to get our table, thank GOODNESS we could wait in the a/c of the foyer! i would never eat there again. if it were me, i'd save this credit to use for a two credit meal elsewhere.

Sunday, May 22:
Breakfast: Capt'n Cooks
-you will have NO problem using snack credits for this meal, IMO. don't factor it into your meal credits unless you find you have too many. and GET THE TONGA TOAST! it's TDF and enough to share!

Monday, May 23:
Dinner: Akershus
-if you're already doing CRT, this may feel like an unnecessary repeat and to be brutally honest, the food sucks, IMO. if your kids are not adventurous eaters, they will be walking away from this hungry. Just my experience! I'd save the credit or else set yourself up for illuminations with a ressie nearer there.

Tuesday, May 24:
Breakfast: Hollywood and Vine
-we had an absolutely awesome time here. I would consider making this a lunch reservation, however. the lunch buffet there was the best buffet we had period. that's just my opinion, though!
Dinner: 1900 Park Fare
-we really enjoyed the character experience here, but the food was just so so. we got seated in the very far corner of the place which made seeing cinderella and the prince dancing impossible. :sad2: when you check in with your ressie, TELL them you want to be seated in the main dining room. it will be worth it, IMO, even if you have to wait a few extra minutes to have that accommodated.

Have you considered doing the luau at the poly? it's awesome and you'll have plenty of credits to spend on it, i think. i hope you have a wonderful time!!!

ETA: I also meant to add that we like to kick off our first day at the parks with a breakfast at Chef Mickey's. it was by far the best character experience of our entire trip and that includes princess breakfast at akershus and cinderella at 1900 park fare!

We stayed at the WL last year and loved it, DH was mourning not being there again. We may change this ADR. We are staying at the Poly which is why we have so many ADRs at GF, Poly, and CR.

Tonys was not our choice as we are going with other people. We really liked Akershus more than CRT but DD remembers CRT so we are planning to go again she is into everything princess! Hollywood and Vine I am not excited about but DD will like the characters as she sees them on TV every day.

I am hoping to manage the food by eating until almost full and not over doing it. I lost 22 lbs. this year and don't want to gain it all back at once! I am trying to see it as we are paying for the character interaction and getting some food rather than the other way around so I won't feel as pressured to eat my money's worth.

We are not doing too many shows because I think DD is too young to sit through them like the luau but maybe I should rethink that.
