We are major fans of the dining plan! On our trip next year we really want to do HDDR and a candlelight processional dining package which would eat up 4 credits on the regular dining plan. We are thinking it may be best to do the Deluxe dining this time. We are thinking a character breakfast or early lunch with a signature for dinner. Then use snack credits for lunch or breakfast the rest of the time. Curious how others use their deluxe dining credits?

Hi there,

Been using the DxDP for years now. The way my family/friends and I use the plan is:
a early breakfast in a park or resort (1 TS)
then go about our day using the snack credits during the day for a snack to hold us over
a later dinner (2 TS).

If there are any snack credits left over (and for us there always are) we use them to bring treats home!

A lot of people say it is a lot of food. And it is. You def want to get your money's worth so to speak by doing more 2 TS dinner's.

Use the link above to see if everywhere you want to eat (while on DxDP) is worth spending the money on the plan. If not, may just be best to pay OOP for HDDR (which is AWESOME) and the Candlelight dinner package.

We do the exact same thing as Jill! We do an early lunch or late breakfast and then 2 credit dinners and take lots of snacks home as souvenirs. We also arrive early leave late on our coming and going days so some of the credits can be used up then as well.

When we regularly purchased DxDP (5 years straight), we did a 1 TS lunch and late 2 TS dinner. We used a few snack credits to grab a breakfast pastry when we were hungry in the morning. At the end of the trip, we loaded the suitcase with snack credit trail mix to take home. A few years ago, we did the math and figured out that the only way we were saving money was by taking home that trailmix. So, we went OOP. The first year we saved $500 over the cost of DxDP, and we ate exactly the same as we had before, but brought home no trailmix. Since then, it's consistently saved us $300-600 per 10 day trip.

We've done DxDP while staying concierge twice and once without. All three times, we had snack credits left over on the last day to use up to buy treats. While staying concierge, we usually did something light in the lounge for breakfast (if we didn't have one scheduled), a QS lunch and a 2 TS dinner. If we did a 2 TS lunch (like Cindy's), we did a 1 TS dinner. When we were not staying concierge, we had snacks as breakfast. Worked really well for us. Love the DxDP
