DxDP Long Princess and MNSSHP Weekend - updated 10/10 - T-Rex

I got a 6:10 pm ADR on October 2nd! So excited, especially since this is the last year Teppan Edo will be on the dining plan. :cool1:

Just curious where you heard it will no longer be on the dining plan?

I believe I heard on the Lines Chat, but I truly didn't look into it to see if it was true. It may have just been a rumor. I will post it on Lines chat to check on the source.

The current brochure for 2013 is not final. Usually the non-Disney owned restaurants do not show up till the brochure is final the first week f January. HtH

I posted on Lines last night and Banish stated the same thing. That is great - I am glad it is mostly likely an untrue rumor that Teppan Edo will be off the dining plan. I love the food and experience at Teppan Edo.

:cheer2::cheer2: Have a Great "Girls Only" Trip, Dopey4Life!:cheer2::cheer2:

Thanks! It was a wonderful trip, though too hard to get food pics while trying to wrangle my 3 1/2 year old on my own. I will have to be very descriptive in my posts, since no pictures were managed this time.

I will post soon - I have been busy entering back into the non-Disney world and the thing called work that supplies by Disney Dining habit!

We flew from Akron-Canton, Ohio to MCO direct and landed about 2:30 pm on Sept 27th. We were checked in and oohhing over our Royal Room at Port Orleans Riverside by 4:30.

We took the boat over to Downtown Disney for 5:30 ADR at T-Rex, which was great - much better than I anticipated. The theming was great - we were seated in a round booth (perfect to trap a 3 and 5 year old in between the two adults) on the edge of the sea aquarium room. The girls loved all of the baby dinosaurs. I heard T-Rex was loud, but it wasn't as loud as I thought it might be - though not a quiet, signature meal.

I was amazed at how delicious our food was. Since we were on DxDP, mY cousin ordered the French onion soup, which came in a great metal crock and she was was delicious. I ordered the mozzarella appetizer with mozzarella stickers and fried, fresh mozzarella. The mozzarella sticks were your typical, but the fresh mozzarella was amazing! It was very rich and fresh with a sauce that had a nice kick.

For our main courses, I had the lasagne and my cousin had the cheese tortellini. Both were excellent and tasted much better than I anticipated. My lasagne had very fresh ingredients and tasted like it came from an authentic Italian restaurant instead of a themed giant of a place. I ended coming back again the last night for the lasagne - my favorite was the layer of rich cheese on the top!

Though we were stuffed, I ordered the key lime pie and my cousin ordered the ice cream sandwich. She really liked her dessert and so did her daughter. My key lime slice was huge and pretty good, but not the best key lime in Florida.

I would rate T-Rex as 5 out of 5 for theming and, surprisingly, 4.5 out of 5 for food. I am planning to take my husband there in June.
