Hello everyone! My name is Ariel and I will be leaving to Disney world with my wonderful mother Ilene in just under a week. I have been a long time lurker on these boards and figured it's finally time to write my own Disney Dining report.

First a little background. I am a biochemistry/ premedical student and my mom is an insanely hard working math teacher. As one may guess we don't exactly have many opportunities to get away and relax. While we love the other members of our family, they can sometimes be a bit of a nuisance on vacations. It had been an incredibly tough year for us when the miracle of all miracles happened for February break. My father would be starting a new job, unable to go away for a week, My sister would be traveling to Europe for a school trip, and my mom and I would be off from classes and work for the week. When I suggested we take a trip to Disney just us two I thought we would both laugh and dream on. Imagine my surprise when she said "hmmm why not!" Well, needless to say I went crazy and started planning for this trip like a mad woman.

My daughter and I are doing our first trip together too! DH and DD12 have work/school, so me and DD19 get to go and enjoy it by ourselves! We have been multiple times, but never just the two of us. Looking forward to following your adventures.

What a great lineup. The filet and lobster bisque at Yachtsman are both fantastic as are the bread rolls.

Great lineup!

I hope to one day do a Mother/Son and a Mother/Daughter trip. pixiedust:

My husband and I took my mother last April and loved Victoria and Alberts, Jiko, Yachtsman, and Hoop de Doo! Narcoossee's was okay, but not great.

My teen son and I will be there the same time you and your mom are there (I am a science teacher and have President's week off). We will be at Hoop de Doo the same night (830 showing) and I am looking forward to it. Our Yachtsman night is Thursday.

At Yachtsman, Oscar and Yun are both fantastic servers.

I hope you have a ball!

Any suggestions on things to try from the restaurants listed before we leave?

Split the wine pairing at V & A, truffle mac at Yachtsman, short ribs at Jiko. Mom and I split our steak at Yachtsman so we could have the truffle mac & dessert

Have a fab trip, I look forward to reading your reviews on your return :)

Well after an amazing week we are back. I'm going to try to start posting the reviews today on the train but all I can say is that the entire trip was just sprinkled with pixie dust in every single way
@nwcutie wow I can't believe we may have even seen each other!! We were the center table of two next to the stage right in the middle. I was the one who the Dolly was yelling at to put down the phone during her competition with Six Bits lol
