Dxddp in October?

Okay, so I know a lot of people say that if you go with the deluxe dining you will be spending most of your time eating in the restaurants instead of being at the parks, but what about in October when we are going, and the park hours are so much shorter? I know some would argue that it would be even worse since you have less time to spend in the parks as it is, but I am thinking about all those evenings when the parks close early.....like MK at 7 on MNSSHP nights and AK at 5 or 6 and DHS at 7 most nights. We can eat dinner after the parks close and then it won't take away from park time as much. Plus, what else would we do during that time since most parks will be closed? What are your thoughts on this?

Forgot to mention..........this will be my DH and DS's first trip and I have not been in 14 years. We will be staying 5 nights at the contemporary. Don't know if any of that makes any difference.

i used to ADR for 5-7 PM...but lately when we go in Oct i plan a late dinner...8 or even 8:30 PM ...by then, the parks are usually 'closing'.. we finish with a nice table service and request a window table to watch various fireworks..[if they're @ 9 0r 9:30] if not, a short trip to MK to watch them and we're DONE...till the next day

it's even easier for you to HOP a monorail to the MK so plan an ADR around the monorail ride or a restaurant in your hotel, or the Poly or GF...i LOVE the Cont.....

There are so many good choices on the resort monorail line. California Grill, Kona Cafe, Narcoossee's, Citricos. V&A of course but it's not a choice with the deluxe DDP. The resort monorail runs until at least 11pm every night so it makes dining easy. The Wave at the CR will be open by then too so hopefully you'll have another good choice. We also love GF cafe for lunch. It's very easy to use the deluxe DDP at the monorail resorts in my opinion.
