The 2 minutes should be a lot of FUN… :woohoo:

but it's still just 2 minutes!

Everyone has been asking about ride duration, and today gave us a chance to do some timings on this.
Based on today's commercial shoot, which we have to assume has the ride running at its intended operational pace,
the ride looks to be somewhere in the region of just under 2 minutes long.
We timed just over a minute for the indoor show scene inside the mountain,
and around 20 to 30 seconds each for the two exterior portions of the ride.
This puts the total ride duration somewhere in the region of just under 2 minutes.
Of course, this does not take into account the load and unload process, which would add some additional time.

this is why I won't be waiting hours. I would love to ride it...but I'll do it when I don't have to wait.

Well, it sounds really short, but when you look at the ride times it's not too much shorter than a lot of things. Snow White was only 2:25 according to the listing here. I'd have never guessed that; it felt much longer.

Barnstormer clocks in at 1:03, so at least it's not that quick!

I think the long wait has built hype for this ride to where everyone expects it to be EPIC, but I think it'll end up as just a ride.

Which falls right in line with the diagram I made months ago showing just how short the inside section will be (and the entire ride in general). Not including the lift hill, it should be about 20-25 seconds of "dark ride" section. Of course I was told I was just a "hater" and I was wrong, that it would go backwards, blah blah blah.

I will be headed out to shoot and load some plate full of crow tonight for some on here. :teacher:

Seems about right for the type of ride it is. I wouldn't have expected it to be much longer.

That sounds about right for what is is...a (very cool) kiddie coaster.

I can't see waiting hours for anything. I think this will be a popular FP+ prebook ;)

Just did a quick check and 10 rides at the Magic Kingdom have ride times of 3:25 or less.

Examples:

Big Thunder: 3:25
Space Mountain: 2:30
Dumbo: 1:30 (and how long did lines get for that back in the day at times?)

Looking at the other parks/coasters: Rockin' Roller Coaster is 1:22 and Everest is 2:51

Plus the queue is going to be interactive, etc.

Again, as long as you are expecting a highly themed family coaster that falls in between Barnstormer and Big Thunder, I think you will be happy.

It's fine with me.

BUT…

I keep reading the many laments of disappointment with the newer dark rides of Little Mermaid (MK & DCA) and Finding Nemo (Epcot.)

"Expectations" at Disney are very, very high, and often the reality is less than anticipated.

As I stated, "not including the lift hill". You have 20 -25 seconds of Dwarfs.

Isn't the lift hill supposed to also have some kind of show scenes with it? I think I read that somewhere. It's really the perfect time to be looking at show scenes since you are moving slow and reports are it's super quiet.

I don't really think 2 minutes is that short, but it ain't that long either. S'okay though, I'll still have fun with it.

I would wait fairly long for my first ride on it. (maybe up to 90 minutes).

BUT I am hoping for a FP+ on my next trip, and not waiting that long.

Well those rides were kind of cop-outs. They didn't even cover up the ceiling vents on Mermaid. In the Haunted Mansion you don't end up facing walls half as much as you do in Mermaid. And Nemo is strictly for the littlest kids. To anyone else except the biggest Nemo fans, it's projections on a glass wall.

Hopefully since it's not a show building or a dark ride on a track, they kicked it up a notch as far as theming.
