Hi,

We are honeymooning in DW this June/July. It will be our first time there.

We are currently booked @ the Swan for 9 nights for 162.50 a night. I am now having second thoughts & maybe would like to stay @ the POR FQ. (which will actually be cheaper with the Summer Package disney has available)

Does anyone have any advice on what we should do. We just wanna have a great time. And stay @ a nice/fun place.

Thanks so much!!!

Jennifer

HI Jen,
If you are having second thoughts about staying at the Swan, than I would suggest staying at the POFQ. I've never stayed at the Swan, so I don't know what the advantages of staying there would be, but I have stayed at POFQ and other Disney sites, and there is nothing like it. It's amazing. And the thought that it's cheaper is all the more reason to stay there. I know Disney Dolphin and Swan are still considered Disney properties, but in my mind I have a hard time justifying that to myself. I am sure there are others on here that LOVE the Swan and Dolphin, and thats fine. Like I said, I've never stayed there so I can't make a judgement like that. But anyway, if you are even thinking about staying at POFQ, I think it is a great decission. If you want more info about POFQ you can PM me or check out the RESORT BOARD. There is plenty of info on there. When you make your reservation, let the CM know that you are on your honeymoon. I hear they try to make it extra special for you.

I haven't stayed at POR or FQ but I have stayed at Caribbean Beach Resort another moderate hotel and I've also stayed at the Swan.

I love the Swan to pieces and enjoy staying there. The beds are wonderful and the King beds are to die for as you're on your honemoon you should request one of those. I would say that the Swan is a higher standard hotel than the PO but you don't get as much as the Disney charm staying at the Swan and you can't charge everything at Disney to your room.

The location of the Swan is also a clincher for me - I love being on the Boardwalk and being able to go for walks around there and so many different eating places (I'm a foodie) without having to get a bus or drive.

If it were my honeymoon and I had to choose between the two I would keep my booking at the Swan.
