Hi UK friends!
OK...so here is the long and the short of it. I am an American and I have two adorable nieces that live in London (Amersham to be exact) and if I have any hope to make them Disney lovers like me I need to start buying them Disney things. We were at WDW last week but I vaguely remember my sister saying DVDs from here, wouldn't work there, but I bought the rest of the gifts I plan to send for Christmas. So, that leads me to three questions
1. What kind of DVD do I need? I have been looking for "universal"
2. I see that I can't get those on the US Disney website and it appears the UK won't ship to me either, am I wrong?
3. The only place I know to shop there is Tesco, I know I am pathetic, where should I being looking and any ideas when I would getting sales? (The Disney store is having a great sale now :furious:)

I know I can just have it shipped to my sister...but I have this whole grand gift idea and being a planner, I am frustrated things aren't working out in my favor. Any input would be appreciated.

The UK and Europe are Region 2 dvd's whereas the US is Region 1. If you look on the back of the case it should tell you what regions it is.

The UK Disney Store online will not ship to the US, not sure why though.

You could try the likes of Amazon.co.uk for dvd's

Do double check the region before you buy as Amazon carry some region 1 dvds on their UK site.

Thanks for the heads up on Amazon i found two American Sellers on the uk site and i have contacted them to see if they have a us store they can sell me them through. Fingers crossed!

I would also check to see if their DVD player is an 'all regions' one. Our one plays DVD's from the USA and UK. :)

It may be worth doing a little search on Google with the make and model of the DVD player..
Quite a few can be set to REGION 0 (region free). by entering a sequence of numbers and a draw open /close from the DVD player remote control.

This is a good place to start
