DVCNews July sales article - Disney's Riviera Resort Has Best Month In Four Years As Direct Sales Climb in July 2024

BCV went on sale with 40 years left and sold out at ~38. That was of course a while ago.

🤷‍♂️

Was there an important timeline with FL TS law?
I don't know for certain, but I believe that a lot of FL TS law goes back to the fixed-week, fixed-unit TS that were established in the 1970s-80s, many if not most of which have sunset clauses. The sunset clauses require them to have the owners vote after a certain number of years, 30 or 40 or more, whether to continue the condominium association or not. I think FL may at some point have set a minimum 40 year lifespan for any given condo association.

Reading on TUG, I've seen that a number of TS in FL have reached the end of their set life. Some have been able to have an orderly vote regarding dissolution or continuation, but for many it's been a nightmare due to no clear owners after the original ones passed away, owners changing addresses and not notifying the condo association, etc.

Yep, and the next DVC after BCV was of course SSR, the first one to have an end date other than 1/31/2042. I don't think sellout date is relevant legally, only the length of time from establishment of a given condo association to its stated end date.

Thanks, ya this was sort of my vague made up they’d need to start a sales cycle on RIV2 by Dec 2029 thought process.

@CastAStone is of course correct an entirely separate CCV like offering can always been done whenever. But, I figured if there was a deadline they are working against internally, one *could* be 2029.

Mostly, I’d just be surprised if they never feel any desire long term to add cash rooms to Riviera. It’s a pretty unique deluxe in terms of transport options.

Interesting thoughts from the discussion about a potential expansion of Riviera.

If they wanted to do something like this and make it sell like hotcakes just build some type of walking bridge with shops and such and give us a walking path from Germany in Epcot to Riviera, or a boat, or something like that.....

Or adding connections to AK and expanding the Skyliner would also have a similar effect.
