Hi all, anyone here get married at WDW or one of the resorts? We are considering a Disney wedding with a few friends and family-any input from the peanut gallery?
:bride: :groom:

Hi!

It sounds like you would like to have what Disney calls an "Intimate" wedding. I'll be getting married at Sea Breeze Point in September and it's your basic "Intimate" package...no frills! :)

Have you checked things out at their website? www.disneyweddings.com

Since you mentioned DVC in your heading, I'm assuming you are a DVC member? The difference for you when booking your wedding woud be that you would do the "add-on". The Intimate add-on costs about $2300 (except at the Wedding Pavilion, it costs more for that location). The add-on includes everything in the regular "Intimate" package except the rooms and tickets. After that, it's up to you to decide what extras you want. I think the new Intimate package allows for 20 guests, but they only provide enough champagne for 4, so you'd have to buy extra bottles...I could be wrong about the details of that though. The website has the correct info.

That's the basics, I think...what location are you considering?

We would like to have about 20 family/friends on the Boardwalk, with a nice dinner somewhere, a cruise and a couple days of fun together at WDW. We would provide rooms for everyone...........still open to ideas.

We are DVC members and getting married in November, an Intimate Wedding "add on". We are getting married at the Wedding Pavilion early in the morning then having lunch at Portabello's Yacht Club in DTD. It is one of the only nice places that serve lunch. We wanted to book an Illuminations cruise for the night but since they changed it we could not. It went from $180 and 12 people to $234 and $10 people, raise the price, lower the occupant #. So we would have needed two boats for the extra two people so we decided not to do that, but if you only have 10 that would be a nice thing to do.

We are DVC members too. DD29 got married at the Wedding Pavillion with reception at Calif. Grill for about 32 people. At that time, it was a package which I don't think exists anymore which included the Pavillion, organist, limo for them, bus for guests, minister, flowers (only for Bride, groom, MOH and BM - we had to add almost $900 more to cover the mothers, the rest of the bridesmaids, flower girls, etc.), cocktail hour, brunch, DJ, cake, visit by Minnie and Mickey, etc. for a set fee of about $10,000 - I know it is way more now and the intimates don't include all of this, but I guess if you have a $10,000 to $15,000 minimum for a custom it might cover most or all of the above if you are careful!!!! We were able to put up all 32 people at OKW on points and those rooms counted toward the room guarantee. At the time of the wedding, we still got passports as a perk when we bought DVC so I only had to buy 7 passports (for the kids). DVC member services helped with all this and also made my airline reservations for the 29 people flying in from NJ with us. Things have changed at DFTW (remember this was in l997), but it all worked out for us and will for you too! :wave2:
