On the DVC website, a new resort has been added to "My Home Resorts" in the Plan Vacation tab. I am a relatively new owner at CCV and AKV-Kidani is now listed as a home resort that I can book out to October 8. I have not bought AKV.

To test things out, I have tried to book AKV past the 7 month window and the available rooms are listed until I try to reserve one... then the website says "This reservation can't be completed because the requested dates are no longer available."

Before I contact member services - any thoughts on why this happened and/or whether there is any benefit or downside to keeping as is?

Ah. Yes I did! That must be it.

(Now I remember reading about this on the member services boards while I was in the process of buying resale. I didn't understand what the thread meant, now I do!)

Thank you for the quick response and knowledge, @_auroraborealis_ !
Always happy to help someone avoid calling MS and sitting on hold and alla that.

Also happens if you ever transfer in points. I only own at AKV but transferred in BWV point 2 years ago and now it shows up as a home resort

It hasn't gone away yet as a home resort despite being 2 years ago? Did you bank some of those points?

I have Riviera listed on mine now, along with my actual resort of BWV. I did just buy one time use points, but it was to book the GF for a friend.

The OTU points don’t go with what you booked, just whatever resort points they have. That is why they can’t be bought until 7 months because it doesn’t matter what resort DvC has in stock to sell.
