I had been to timeshare (non-
DVC) in the past and personally I would rather have a root canel than go through that again. Because of this I avoided the DVC kiosks for years.
A couple of years ago we were walking by the kiosk at BWV and it was unmanned (potty-break) so we went up and started looking through the materials. I looked interesting, but I was still thinking normal timeshare sales techniques. The rep was headed back to the kiosk and asked us if we had any questions. I think I screamed "NO JUST LOOKING" and started to dart away. He very nicely said to feel free and he'd leave us along.
Well I got my courage up, went back to browsing and he kept his distance. He heard us discussing a few things that looked interesting and after he felt that I had calmed down, he indicated again that he'd be glad to answer any questions, but he didn't press.
We did start asking a few questions and he offered us the tour. At that time the sales office was still at BWV, so since we were right there we figured why not. I was still thinking it was going to be bad, but that I'd stick to my guns and say "NO!" but I was curious.
It was one of the most pleasant sales experiences ever. No pressure at all. Lots of information, our rep answered all of our questions. There was zero pressure to purchase on the spot. I have read other postings on here where folks wanted to purchase on the spot and they were almost discouraged from doing so. They very much wanted us to take the information, review it, think about it and come back to make the purchase.
We were going to be on site for a couple more days so our guide made an appointment for us to come back. She said that all she asked was that if we decided not to come back to let her know so that she wouldn't sit around waiting for us.
We did get a phone message the night before reminding us of the appointment but that was it. We had made up our mind to purchase so we went back and signed the papers, but if we had not been interested, it would have been very easy to walk away.
