I am so upset I don't know what to do. I know there are people with far bigger problems due to Sandy but I am still going to rant.

I made reservations for my home resort, BWV, in late January 2012 for 12/30 - 1/6/13. At that time, there were no 2 BR available for 12/31, so the phone representative made 3 reservations - a 2 BR for 12/30, a 1 BR for 12/31, and a 2 BR from 1/1 - 1/6 with a request for an upgrade the night of 12/31. The upgrade came through, but the rest of my reservation vanished! I now have a 2 night reservation and apparently nothing else is available from 1/1 to 1/6.

I am now ripping my house appart looking for Gib McCain's contact info. If anyone can message me with it I would appreciate it.

So you had three separate reservation numbers, and a wait list request for the ONE night. And when the wait list came through it somehow canceled the separate reservations before and after?

I'm guessing you've called them already, yes? I saw weirdness once on my reservations (split stay) when they decided to go from one reservation for several components of a reservation to separate numbers for each part...sure panicked me! But it was OK in my case. I found it while looking on the main disney "my reservations" site, but once I got into my DVC account it was all there with the new reservation numbers. So I know what the panic is like, and I really hope that it's something like my situation, where it actually was all OK.

I don't know who it is that you're looking for, but I'd just call and make your way up the chain. You have emails or letters showing those reservations?

I also don't know who you are referring to; however you may want to contact member services and have them go over an activity statement with you or if you are able to view online go through the activity statement online to see what happened and when it happened. I am also trying to understand if you put in a waitlist and if so, did you do so online or through member services. Doing it online, you do have an option to cancel an existing reservation. Try contacting member services or going online to see what may have happened.

Before you panic, you might want to call MS and see if someone at MS created a single travel plan for you once your WL came through. It could be as simple an answer as that (and I hope it is!)

I'm thinking Gib McCain is likely the OP's guide, but I have to wonder just what a guide could do? Guides are really just sales people.

The OP should do as others have suggested...call MS nad if the first peson can't answer her questions, ask for a lead or supervisor.

hope it works out for you. here's Gib's contact info:

Edited to Remove Contact Info

Just a Reminder that we don't allow individual CM contact info to be
posted. If someone needs to contact a guide, they can use the general sales info number
(800) 500-3990

Thanks,

Chuck S

I hope so too! It would be the opposite of what panicked me, LOL. "travel plan", yes, not "reservation number" like I was saying. And it would make sense, since it would all be the same place, same resort, etc.

I've just composed an email. Gib was no help at all just game me the same song and dance as Member Services.

I would not expect a sales agent to be any help. Have you checked online as the others suggested to make sure they did not merge the reservations together and actually have cancelled.

When you called Member Services did you ask for someone from Member Satisfaction to call you or be transferred to them?

Which is what exactly? You haven't communicated what happened or what you were told by MS. However, if a mistake did occur and you lost your reservation, all they can do is a priority wait list if nothing is available. They will not recover the reservation from someone else even if they reserved after a mistake and cannot generate a reservation out of mid air. You could lobby for hotel rooms with concierge access if there was clear fault.

Sorry, this must be very frustrating for you. After your waitlist was confirmed for the two-bedroom, does it indeed show check-in 12/30 -12/31. Are you able to see this online? Can you also go through the member site onto the vacation details-view activity statement to get a summary of when and what happened. It will show the dates and transactions involved with your reservation. Hopefully someone will be able to assist you with this.

We went through a similar situation a few times in the last few years....basically wait lists matching and losing the wrong reservations. Once a wait list for a boardwalk view matched and when they 'cleaned up' the reservation they booked a garden view...the second tie was similar. In one case they managed to fix it...the other they couldn't. There is a problem you need to escalate it to a manager. Once they concur that a mistake has been made, they will do their best to help you. In one case I can't count how many times in the weeks coming up to the vacation that they called us with various options. While we didn't get exactly back what we had, they definitely worked hard at finding creative solutions. In none of the cases did we not get a room...just not the view we had originally booked.

I have had 2 similar situations in the last 2 yrs. Once it was fixed because the dates were avail, once ai was out of luck, they put me on 2 waitlists, one eventually came thru but not what we had really wanted. he answer I was given was that the CM put a not to cancel our other res if the waitlist came tru and they cancel all the res not just the one it was being swapped with.

I ck all the time now, I double ck by phone what I am listed as havin, what notes they have...

Happened to us for this weekend's trip. I never got the email that the waitlist came through; I checked on my own and saw that the rest of the vacation was cancelled. I was able to call MS and get a unit.

I hope you can get something.

People with waitlists need to keep checking their plans.

That was my question, do you have your original reservation confirmation e-mails for the 3 res. you had from the beginning? I keep those religiously till we're back!

My biggest fear, even after all these years, showing up at the desk, and MS telling me we have no reservation in your name!

I never got an email that my waitlist went through!!i only found out when I called trying to pick up days one at a time. It actually didn't even fully completed until I called to confirm.
