Which DVC studio is the most spacious and best layout for 3 adults and a toddler? Heading down with my parents and daughter and thinking of buying points from a friend to stay in a DVC vs a regular resort room. Or should we be looking at a 1 bedroom instead?

We all live together a few days out of the week so we can tolerate the studio for the week without killing each other.

The largest DVC Studios will be those at OKW. The OKW studios are also the only ones that have 2 queen beds (all others have a queen bed and a sleeper sofa).

OKW is, indeed, spacious. However, both the Villas at the Grand Floridian (VGF) and the Villas at the Wilderness Lodge (VWL) have three separate sleepers: a queen bed, a pullout couch, and a Murphy bed underneath the TV. Of those two, VWL has a better layout and a bit more storage. VGF's storage is notably lacking; however, they do have a split bathroom concept so that there are two bathing areas: a shower/tub and a stand-alone shower with a sink and mirror between the two. Good luck!

OKW is my first though also, though if with a toddler you were going to spend the majority of the time at MK VWL might be better even though it will be much tighter.

If you are planning on renting I am guessing your trip is a ways out so the new Poly studios might also be available if you are not traveling at peak times and will be as large as OKW, but will still have a sleep sofa as the second major bed and the smaller fold out bed like VWL and GFV.

OKW will be the best studio due to the 2 queen beds and size. However, it will also be the most isolated, esp without a car. A 1 BR would be better in many ways but would have a King and a pullout and will be twice the cost. If you do decide to go with a 1 BR, BLT & AKV (Kidani only) have 2 BA in the 1 BR. For me personally it would depend on the people involved and the reasonableness of putting the third person in a pullout since we always have a car, for no car I'd likely avoid OKW if possible. Other factors are the budget, how many points the friend has available and how much they are charging you. The last component is timing as many options may not be available during certain times and in some cases, specialty options may be available such as BWV standard and BW view.

I say OKW. And I would recommend a one bedroom. It might cost more money up front but you would have so much more room, laundry and a full kitchen. With a toddler a kitchen would be handy plus the bedroom would be nice for naps and you could save the extra money you would spend on the room having some meals there and not in the parks. Just my two cents worth:)

We did OKW studio in September. It was myself, DH, DS, DIL and 2 yr old grandson and it was perfect!! My DS brought along ( they drove) a queen size air mattress that my grandson slept on and we left it aired up the whole time and had plenty of room to still walk around. We just moved the table and chairs next to the balcony doors and put the air mattress where that was.

We stayed in that studio for 3 nights then DH flew home while the rest of us went on DCL, after the cruise we did 3 more nights and stayed at All Star Sports......needless to say the room was much smaller and we had to walk on top of the air mattress at the foot of one of the beds!!
