Okay I know how fortunate I am and how ridiculous it sounds, but I am just over hotel rooms - even Contemp and Poly. We took an extra trip this week for DS 5th birthday - used CM rate thru my mom at Ft Wilderness Cabin and Contemp Tower. The cabin was fine although I missed my washer and dryer. But the tower about drove me nuts! Not having the extra room, the kitchen, the lack of privacy in the room and those stupid sinks! The sinks are gorgeous, but about as practical as not having one.

I know it sounds awful to complain about the Contemporary and I'm not complaining really - it was beautiful and convenient, but I missed by 1 bedroom!

It only gets worse I have a GV booked and even though or group shrank to only 9 who would fit comfortable in a 2br just could not bring myself to give up the GV. Even with 4 I do not think I could do more than 2 days in a studio, just plain spoiled by the extra space and kitchen.

I absolutely agree!!! I'm at a point that it's not a real vacation to me unless the kids sleep in a room other than mine...and I have a balcony the my husband and I can spend the evening on!! Oh!! And I can't forget about the washer/dryer...never thought I would terribly miss doing laundry, but I feel trapped without one now!! It sounds really trivial, but it's true!!:confused3

I could be happy anywhere, as long as I'm on site, but, in Oct. I'll have my first taste of a 2 bdrm villa, and may not be able to ever go back to a "regular" room. Can't wait! :cool1: And I'm not even sure which one we'll be getting - DD will get final choice, I'm sure it will be great. :thumbsup2

I made the mistake of staying in a 1 bedroom after staying in a studio on developer points, well lets say I was in the 1 bedroom 1 day and decided I had to have a whirlpool tub when I go so I had absolutly had to add on more points to be able to take the trips I wanted to. Yes I am spoiled. Yikes a regular hotel room I will find out how I handle it in June when I go to California

Our first trip with our DVC was to a one bedroom at OKW. We were BLOWN AWAY with all the room, the jacuzi (sp), and the in-room washer and dryer. We have since gotten some studios, but we look forward to our next chance (this coming summer for a few days at BWV) to visit a one bedroom!

We love our DVC!!!

Our first 1BR stay spoiled us for good, our first 2BR stay caused as add-on.

Our last 2 stays we in 2BR units, once at VWL and once at SSR. The SSR trip was on the developer points from our add-on and it was just the 4 of us. I knew we didn't need that much room for just 4 but man it sure was nice. We weren't going to be able to use the DPs for a 2nd trip before they expired so we booked big and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The kids had their own bedroom, we had ours and all the room in the middle was just a big bonus. Everyone was thrilled with the accomodations and that made me feel so good about our DVC purchases.

You think that is bad, we have never have more than 6 people in a GV! We will have 7 for our next trip and ended up getting two 2-bedrooms at BCV. How silly are we? I always figure, if you don't share a room with that person at home, you shouldn't have to on vacation. Wow, has DVC ever spoiled me!

We stayed in at ASMu for one night to save points and we couldn't wait to get to our home resort. It was small and so.. hotelish. But, we stayed at POR for our first visit several years ago and had a wonderful stay. Now, I wouldn't consider it. DVC spoiled princess I am!

We are doing 2 weeks in a 1 bed in the summer, I cannot understand the reason some people want to max out on people in a room or try to squeeze more in than it is designed for. It would be my idea of hell, not a luxury break for which DVC is designed. I would sooner have two linked rooms at pop than four in a studio if its budget constraints that decide.

I book a 2BR for 5 people and it seems just right...:thumbsup2
I felt a little guity at first  but I'm over it...:rotfl:

Our first stay was 5 people in a 2-bedroom. Our next booked stay is for 4 in a 1bdr and I'm concerned. I guess I'm spoiled already. How are DH and I going to get up early for our runs with the 2 DS's sleeping in the living area?? I'm going to miss that extra space! We're already talking add-on

I hear ya! I feel guilty expressing these thoughts to my friends since their only option is to get a regular room, so I've stopped talking about DVC to them.

We are a family of 3 and always do 1 BRs. Our daughter was only 2yo both times we went so we easily could have done a studio to save points -- nope! It's a 1BR all the way.

When we talk about vacationing elsewhere in a regular room, it's just sort of depressing. :rotfl:

We got spoiled by the 1 bdrm the first minute we walked in! Even DS (who was 15 at the time and a blase teen) turned around and said "Mom, we can never stay in a regular hotel again". There were 4 of us in the 1 bedroom. That 1 bdrm caused us to buy into DVC. Fast forward a couple of years (still 4 of us) and we were pretty flush with points so I decided to splurge on a 2 bdrm. You guessed it - we are now a family of 1 bdrm when 2 of us travel, and a 2 bdrm when 3 or 4 of us go!
