DVC Sales at Grand Californian to begin August 15th

My Guide just left a message that DVC Sales at Grand Californian will begin on August 15th. Has anyone else heard this or can confirm? Haven't had time to call back to confirm. Thought everyone might want to know.

****May have been false alarm as the message may have been referring to the points charts being posted. Member Services has them (spoke to them this morning and they quoted them). I did express interest in both the point charts and buying add-ons at Grand Californian and since the voice message didn't clarify which he was referring to, simply that Grand Californian was going live August 15th, I took it to mean the more exciting one of the two.... We'll see. I tried calling him, but he's not there, and I'm too busy at work to track this down.

What? Is this for the Founder's Program? I haven't heard anything from my guide and I've asked him to contact me as soon as he has any news.

Any one have any more news?

My guide, who we just saw, said that there is a max of 160point purchase and 25point min if paying cash and 50point buy in if financing.. we are going to DL again in a few weeks.. so I will find out more then also.. we are on his list to call when it comes up for sale.. and no call yet, I talked to him earlier today about our next trip and he said nothing.. Its exciting..getting closer!

So MS quoted from the point charts for GCV? Are they out there, then? Even if the August 15th date is just for the release of point chart information, at least that gives us some information for being able to decide about a future purchase. In fact, given how they did it with AKV, I would expect the point charts and other information to be released several weeks -- if not a couple of months -- before the start of sales.

I guess we'll see!

I just toured the models 2 weeks ago. The CM's told me that according to CA timeshare laws the building must be 90% completed before they can begin selling shares. Since there were still mostly concrete pilings & rafters visible on the building extension they pointed out to me I think they have a long way to go before they get to that 90%. They don't expect the rooms to be open to guest until Sept 2009.
