DVC Sales Associates?

We were at WDW last week and overheard a DVC sales associate say there are only a few BCV left to be sold. It's my understanding that Saratoga Springs will not be ready for at least another year. It's obvious to me that Disney will not be needing the large number of associates for awhile. Will there be layoff? Will these folks transfer to other Disney jobs?

Not sure. Keep in mind that "a few" BCV's could mean a whole bunch (like 25% of the entire BCV). The guides have been saying 2/3 sold out since November. Depends on who you talk to.

I would imagine that all the buy backs DVC has been doing is to have some more points to sell people between the end of BCV and the beginning of SSR.

and although SSR would not be ready untill next year, presales could start a few months before hand, and it will still be a few months until BCV sells out (IMHO). Even though it is selling out quickly, it still has a good amount left, and as Melrosgirl said the buybacks Disney has got lately using thier ROFR has gotten them more points to sell at the other resorts.

And if the demand keeps up for BCV, expect them to raise prices again to try to slow the sales some.

I wonder just how fast BCV is selling out. I called my guide today and he had a message on his machine (he is out of the office until tomorrow). In the message he said that if this was in regards to sells at BCVs he wanted to assure me (the caller) that calls would be answered in the order they are received.

Sounds like a 'race' is on to buy points .

I don't know, I just found the message 'interesting'. I was surprised when they announced last month that HH was sold out.

I called my guide about a week or two ago to get my name on the list for an add-on at VWL. I also told her that I might consider SSR if there wasn't any luck with VWL. She told me she expects they will begin selling SSR this summer. I bet they will have enough BCV and ROFR points to keep them busy until then.
