DVC restaurant discounts offsite

We're having a birthday party for our teenager at the Rain Forest Cafe here in Seattle. My husband asked me if we could use our DVC card for a discount. I always assumed this was only good at WDW.

Has anyone tried to use their DVC card in their own area for discounts at RFC or Wolf Gang Puck etc.?

I'm 99.9% sure that your original assumption is correct. The discounts are only for Rainforest and Wolfgang Puck (and any other restaurants with national outlets) at their WDW area branch. You could ask if they'll give you a discount, but it's not something we were promised. The breakouts are pretty specific...they list Rainforest AK and Rainforest DD seperately in our listing.

While they may extend the discount, there is nothing in the DVC info that would suggest it is offered. If you belong ot AAA or other groups, look into that.

You could always join their "Safari Club". I did it (forgetting we get a DVC discount!) and even got a gift cert from them for my birthday (I think it was for $5 off... basically a free drink?!) THe fee was $15 and you get very similar discounts, plus certain seating preferences (presumably faster). You can ask at your RFC site or go online for details.
