We’re a family with two parents, a 13 year old autistic son, and a 5 year old daughter. We’re to toying to decide between a one bedroom at Cooper Creek Villas or Animal Kingdom Jambo. I’m guessing we’ll likely be taking Ubers to get around from either. Which would you choose?

With the kids, Jambo House. Both of these resorts are very immersive, but Jambo House has real live animals you can see out the windows of your villa. What kid won't love that?

I would also recommend the AKV Jambo 1BR, including because the room itself has a an advantage over CCV 1BRs for a foursome like yours. The rooms have a king bed in the bedroom, and, in the living room, a pull-out from the couch queen and a pull out twin-size bed from a large chair. Thus, your children would have separate sleeping places in the living room. CCV 1BRs have only the king in the bedroom and a pull-out couch queen in the living room, which would put your son and daughter in the same bed.

Without the benefit of being able to use boat transportation at CCV, it has to be AKV Jambo. Both lobbies are impressive but only one of those resorts has a freakin' savanna. I still freak out and take a bunch of pictures when I see a giraffe eating outside my balcony and I'm a full grown adult.

What park are you going to visit the most?

If it's Magic Kingdom, you are looking at a 15-20 minute Uber ride each way with traffic, plus Ferry/Monorail time with Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Something to be aware of, only the Minnie Vans can drop you off directly at the bus loop at Magic Kingdom. Ubers and Lyfts can only go to the TTC.

So keep that in mind for Copper Creek, if you aren't going to take the boat transport.

These are both very good options for your circumstances IMHO and I think you’ll have a great vacation at either one. But I’d suggest AKV as perhaps a slightly better pick because of the room itself.

I prefer copper creek. Pick the one that the theme speaks to you more. Do you want to come home to animals or the beauty of nature? A lake or a savannah. The savannah isn’t viewable when it gets dark so if you are at the parks until nightime, its less of a feature.

Personally I like both resorts, I own at both.

Should I decide for one over the other, I would say it depends. If I wanted to use the least amount of points I go for the value rooms at AKV. If I didn't care about the points I would most likely go for CCV because I feel its closer to the action compared to AKV.

But either way you can't go wrong and it basically comes down to what you prefer and if you often go to AK then AKV would be closest.

Actually, there is some lighting on the savannas at night - it’s low, like moonlight, but I’ve always seen animals from my balconies that overlooked a savanna at night at AKV, although some villas have better views at night than others - here’s one in Jambo overlooking Sunset Savanna.

I've stayed at both and own at AKL. I prefer WL because of its proximity to MK. Also, I love the theme of WL.
