the timeshare store is where i bought my resale.

when someone buys from disney and decides to get out (to avoid the annual dues, because they've lost interest in disney, because they have family/divorce/job issues), they "re-sell" their contract.

if you eventually decide to sell your contract (and most don't keep it till expiration), you will be selling on the resale market as disney will not buy back the pts.

basically the same thing as direct (except if you need to resell the contract, you will lose less money because you paid less upfront).

resale contracts are not able to book disney cruises, wdw hotels (like the poly or POFQ) or adventures by disney. they also cannot book fancy resorts like the hotel del coronado in san diego or the mandarin oriental in DC. however, all of these options are very, very pricey in terms of the points needed.

resale contracts can still trade out through RCI for other timeshares and through the buena vista trading company for club cordial and club intrawest resorts. (still not a great deal but it's there as an option.)

resale contracts and direct purchase contracts expire in the same year - if you buy a BLT resale, it goes to 2060 just like a direct purchase. (the only exception is OKW - all direct OKW contracts go through 2057 and some resale OKW end in 2042 and some end in 2057.)
