DVC Resale Purchase - Contract Question

I still find it very sad that there are typos in these contracts...these brokers don't have to do that much work in selling these things. It's really not that hard to make sure everything is filled in properly.

These contracts are more or less boiler plate that need a few blanks filled in. It shouldn't be that hard.

Agree, but unfortunately, it is not unusual these days to find errors in many important documents besides DVC resale contracts. I know I have to carefully verify everything I sign or risk getting stuck with the the error(s). Just this week I had to twice send back a spreadsheet that was calculating 1098 entries for our association. Originator was an accountant, who later told me most of the content I objected to was a "cut and paste" from other similar associations and therefore had to be correct . (BTW, those were wrong, too and were reissued).

Anyway, my new mantra is "READ THE DOCUMENTS BEFORE YOU SIGN" - no matter how much pressure I am under to sign ASAP to meet someone else's deadline.

Completely agree... I received W-2s to distribute to employees the other day with names and addresses spelled incorrectly. There appears to be less and less attention to detail these days. I understand the concept of time is money, however it has to be done correctly the first time or else you will spend even more fixing the mistakes.

My first closing docs had my Godchild's name spelled wrong... I caught it... even he missed it... but he's 19 and excited to be on the deed

Yeah, It is pretty sad since it takes me all of 2 minutes to review a contract and see the errors. And they are suppose to be the professionals.

At The Timeshare Store, Inc.® we definitely try and and keep the errors to a minimum. My message to the associates is typically telling them to “slow down” when reviewing documents. Thanks for the post as this a good reminder to our staff.

Contemplating selling my ownership and was curious if I could get recommendations of real estate brokers to list them with? DVC has referred me to Fidelity and Vacatia.

The post right above you gives info for one of the board sponsors. I've both bought and sold with them and would recommend them for a transaction. I'd use them for selling vs the Disney recommendations.
