DVC questions

First of all, thanks for all the info shared on these boards. They really have been invaluable. I have a few more questions.

I'm pretty convinced about buying into SSR b/c of the added years and the $79 per point price. I just need to try and figure out how many points I need. I haven't seen a points chart for SSR but I'm sure it exists. I guess that I would like to plan on a 2BR for 1 week every other year during spring break/summer. We have 5 in our family.

Second, has anyone had problems booking an OKW 2BR if this isn't your home resort?

Hello,

Magic Season, runs from June 11th - August 15th (the summer portion). During that season, a week in a 2BR at SSR would be 316 points. If you plan on going every other year, you'd need 1/2 of that, or 158 points. 150 points is the minimum for a new member, so you'd be fine. It would cost you $12,482 if you take advantage of the $10 credit deal that DVC is offering for SSR right now.

Sunday - Thursday --> 36 points/night
Friday - Saturday --> 68 points/night

While 150 will get you by for 7 days most years EOY, 6days some trips for a 2 BR summer, it will not for Easter. What are the gender and ages of the kids, how long do you plan to stay, how often might you go Spring Break, will it usually be around Easter. My guess is that you will need more like 200 points for your stated goals but it will depend on the specifics.

I have 8, 5, 4 yo daughters. We probably would go in the summer (late May to August). Spring break reserved for skiing. Typically we would like to stay 6-7 nights when we would go to WDW. Where are the point charts for SSR?

150 may do it for you EOY if you avoid Easter and don't plan to use DVC for the nonDVC options.SSR points - Credit to Caskbill
