DVC Question

The bolded were what I was referring to. Were these different types of DVC gathering?

LAX

embarkation day. When the phone call came before hand I was told ti should up 15 minutes early for the character.
We also go.....never were told this before and never saw a character leaving.

I've seen characters at the beginning of the DVC Member Celebration on one cruise on the Wonder in 2015 (Belle), two cruises on the Dream in 2016 (Stitch, Chip & Dale), and two cruises on the Dream in 2017 (Stitch on both). The characters were there about 15 minutes prior to the Celebration on embarkation day.

I've also gone to a couple of the DVC non-member presentations, which are truly only a sales pitch, not any sort of fun celebration like they try to do for the members. These have not had characters at the ones I've been to. But I've only gone for the free DVC pin that you can only seem to get if you attend the presentation (two different Aulani pins and a Copper Creek :)).

We went to the member presentation on the Magic in December and got a private meet and greet with Stitch, which my DS's loved. We got a heads up in the terminal from the DVC guys about the character. We always go to the member session and the perks are usually the drinks and limited giveaways. The club host usually comes by and does some cheesy and fun activities.

I echo the idea of researching in advance. The presentation may convince you to buy now! But you should think long and hard about it. We bought resale months after our original visit with a guide at DLR and are very happy.

Just remember if you buy resale you don't get all the DVC benefits that members who buy direct get. So yes, do your research.

This starts getting into DVC forum territory, but for a lot of people, the "special DVC perks" will never economically compete with saving thousands of dollars to buy the resort one really wants to own, versus being pushed CCV or Aulani on ship at retail prices.
