For those of you who have, or have wanted to stay at a DVC property (owning or renting points) what property have or would you choose and why? I am considering trying to rent some points and can't decide on what properties I prefer. It would be myself and DH and 10 yo DD.

Thanks for any input!:thumbsup2

I have stayed at BWV twice, OKW once and SSR once. I onw at BWV and love the location and resort. You can't beat the ability to walk to MGM and EPCOT!

However, I really liked the newness of SSR, and if I needed a last minute reservation, I would gladly stay there again. I also liked it at OKW, it, too was very serene and relaxing.

I know others would heartily endorse the Villas at Wilderness Lodge and Beach club Villas. I'm not so sure you will hear a lot of negatives about the DVC properties. There will be a lot more info on the DVC forums.

When are you planning on going? That could be a deciding factor if you are looking at renting a reservation from a DVC member.

We have stayed at SSR and the accodations are wonderful BUT it is a bit remote and being so far from the main facilities is a draw back IMO. We stayed in Congress Park (great area) but not close to check-in, the main pool, food service or entertainment.

Next time we are trying BWV because of its great location and proximity to food, parks, entertainment etc...

Hope this helps.

What size unit are you planning on for your stay?? If you want a 1 BR, I would suggest OKW, just because they are so much larger than the other resorts, if you are planning on a studio stay I would suggest BCV if you are planning on spending a lot of time at the resort, since your DD would probably love SAB...if you will be going during the winter or do not plan on spending a lot of time at the resort, then just pick the location you prefer.

Personally I do not care for the studios at OKW because there are no couches or easy chairs...it is just like a big hotel room. The other resorts have a sitting area with the sofa bed and an easy chair as well as the little table and straight chair. All of them are great resorts, so just pick the location that looks best for the trip you are planning if you are going to be in a studio.
