DVC Points Rental

We rented someones points for a stay @ OKW. We have a confirmation number and have provided the owner with our transportation information for the Magical express.

When can we expect our luggage tags & packets? Are they sent to the owner first and then mailed to the renter or do they come directly to the renter.

The arrangements were booked about 2 weeks ago

This is my first DVC rental and i'm a little nervous.

ME doesn't send your tickets until about 42 days from when you are suppose to arrive. If you trip is soon, like in the next week, you may not receive them in time so you will just need to get your luggage like you would at any airport and bring it to the buses where you board. I like to just get my luggage myself. If you let ME get it. Bell services might not deliver your luggage to your room for a couple of hours. At least if you get your luggage, you put it on the bus and take it off yourself and then bring to your room.

The trip is March 17th so that makes us about 46 days out! If we dont get them a month before we go then we will call the real estate agent that booked the rental!

I would certainly expect them 30 days out. It also still gives you time to get things ironed out incase something went wrong.

Not sure of the 42 day practice. For a trip we had first week of January, the ME materials showed up the end of the second week of December.

If you don't get them ahead of time, no worries. Just take your baggage claim tickets and your resort confirmation to the ME desk and they will take care of everything. Hop on your bus and away you go!

Have a wonderful time! It's hard to go back to a regular hotel room after staying in the villas.

My understanding is that Disney does not like to send out the ME tags too soon since they found that people were losing them.

The tags will not be mailed to the DVC owner but to the address that the DVC owner used that the renter gave as a home address.

ME is really not something to get too worked up about. Even without tags you can show up at the ME counter at the terminal, show your confirmation and receive transportation to your resort. In this case you will have to retrieve your own luggage.
