DVC point plus renting from Davids

Hi everyone,

I am going down to WDW in November with a DVC member. She only has enough points for 2 nights at Poly and I wanted to purchase enough points for another 2 nights. Is this possible and to keep the same reservation? We don't want to change rooms after two days.

Any suggestions would be helpful.

No, if you rent points, it would be two reservations. You might need to change rooms, but could try to link them in system to minimize the chance.

She would need someone to transfer points to her and extend her reservation using the points in her account for it to be only one reservation. That couldn't be done through David's or a point rental broker, only through a private transaction with another owner.

I rented points from a friend to extend my own reservation and was given two options by DVC Member Services. A notation can be made in the member's reservation, which lists other reservation numbers. Alternatively, if both members can join DVC Member Services in a three-way phone call, then the multiple reservations can be linked. It is my understanding that linking reservations requires DVC Member Services to access both memberships and confirmation of the typical security questions.

There is no guarantee with the notation approach, but a linked reservation would ensure the same room type. Right now, we just have the notation.

I have linked reservations made by myself and another DVC member on several occasions. It does take a 3-way call between MS and the two members. It is very important to have the same people on each reservation and also in the same name.
