We will be sailing on the Magic Thanksgiving week. We are DVC members and were told there was a DVC Reception during the week. Do we need to notify DCL that we are members?

Many thanks

You don't need to do anything. They have it in their system that you are a DVC member. They'll leave meet 'n greet info in your room. They were handing out the red DVC ball caps for current owners but you had to stop by the desk to get it. There were add on specials, but I don't recall any of them being good enough to jump on them. I believe there are better deals to be had on the member only cruise.

Have a fabulous Turkey Day cruise. :goodvibes

Thank you very much for the information. It was a big help.

On our two cruises there were a few nice DVC perks waiting for us in the cabin. Have a great time!!!

Just wondering if this only applies to DVC points ressies? We are sailing on the Magic in 2011, but are paying cash for our trip. I didn't specify we were DVC members when we made our reservation. Would we still be able to go the the meet & greet etc??

No, you will get the DVC perks for both points and cash reservations. We always pay cash for the cruise and get the DVC perks on every sailing. You do not need to specify that you are DVC members. They will know. We have never mentioned it when we book, yet we are on the Member list.

There is a DVC desk on Deck 4 Midship. You can stop by there once you board to make sure you are flagged as a member but, again, in all our years of sailing we've never had an issue.

Enjoy!

We book our cruises with cash only and not with MS. On the 7 day it was at 10am on the first day (KW) in Sessions I think. I let them know while we were in the terminal that we were DVC. There is a DVC station there too.You get several different things while on the ship and then you get a goodie bag while at the reception. I won the $200 of OBC!

When we sailed with cash in 2006, they missed us as DVC members, but it was easy to fix. Just go to the DVC member gathering or find the DVC reps on board (not difficult to do). I think we got a door magnet and at the gathering we won a hat and a bag. Believe there were free drinks at the member gathering too (and of course great limited ownership offereings to add on...)

Since we have been DVC members, we have cruised on DCL three times, twice for cash and once on points. Both times we paid cash, they had no record of us. Still, this was rectified very quickly. We went past the DVC desk and introduced ourselves and they added us to the list and gave us some goodies that had been left in the cabin for other DVC members.

We just got off the OCt 25 Wonder cruise on cash, here are my recommendations. At check in let the CM know to note you are a DVC member. Also, inquire as to when the DVC reception is being held. I would also stop by the DVC desk and let them know you are a member as well. Regardless of paying cash or by points you are welcomed to attend.

In the room, we received a Captain's Log which included a logbook, two DVC Lanyards, and a few postcards.

At the reception they gave out hats and played a little trivia game giving away some beach towels, travel blankets, and DVC Mesh Bags. And they did a drawing for some OBC.

Current points are going for $112. But there was a graduated discounts based on the number of points adding on, the best deals being at Grand California. If memory serves right it was up to $17 per point discount for 200 or more point add-ons. They seemed to be pushing AKL the most.

Also, they were giving a $25 gift card for any on board referrels to both the DVC member and the referee. I went to the general DVC presentation with a friend who I was referring and this is where they were really pushing AKL. During the presentation they did a drawing for $300 OBC.

Hope that helps.
