DVC Perk in digsuise - Dining Plan 2010

So we're going in March 2010.
Despite Disney's recent unveiling of their 2010 dining plan with variably scaled costs depending on season. It seems that if you take the Dining Plan on the DVC, you pay 41.99 per day. Regardless of the time of year.

This is actually a perk for us ( not to mention what is making us actually TAKE the dining plan, cause at 46.99 it just wasn't worth it... yes that 5$ makes a difference cause 41.99 was right on the line ).

My cousin who is coming down at the same time is staying at POR and has to pay the 46.99 per day.

I sincerely hope you are right. BUT, I feel that any day now DVC will update that cost and, inevitably, we will pay the same as everyone.

I would guess that would depend upon the current contract between DVC and Disney Travel, who actually controls the DDP. The contract may have been signed for this year prior to the "seasonal" pricing. If the contract allows for price changes during year, I would guess that DVCers will pay the upcharge in 2010, even if it hasn't been announced for DVC yet.

Though I certainly agree it is unusual for them to give such a break to DVCers. If the seasonal upcharge works out for Disney Travel, I would definitely expect it to be implemented for DVC in 2011.

I actually reserved my dining plan at the 41.99 rate a few weeks ago. I am curious if they will try to increase it, when i get there.

While I don't think it's impossible, I did with someone at member services that it would cost me 41.99... I certainly hope they don't go and change it on us...

I was quoted a price that works out to that too.
As I can't actually pay until I get there, I will be surprised if I still get it for that price...I'm hopeful though, it makes a $160 difference in my case. Money I can spend on stuff, and food and wine festival treats

I just booked my dining with my dvc ressie today-he quoted me the cost for the 3 of us- I would think they should honor the price quoted.
