DVC or hotel room

I'll be heading down in august 2011 for a long trip, over 2 weeks. I'm a DVC member and have enough points for 2 nights at AKV and 11 nights at BWV. I would like to fly down several days ahead of my mother and husband with my 3 boys . My Dilemma is that I could rent points and stay at BLT (60 points) or I could wait and see if I can get a deal at a moderate or deluxe resort. Unfortunately the dates that I am looking at do not include the free dining in August 2011. Just wondering what people think my best option is.

I guess I am one of those that bought into DVC so that we don't ever have to pay out of pocket for a room at Disney. Plus we feel the DVC are much more luxurious then the value or moderate resorts. And rather not deal with renting. But that is just us. Do what you think you and your family would enjoy. Can't go wrong with any Disney vacation!
