DVC on NYE

I’ve decided to embrace the crowds and visit WDW next NYE (so 2019-2020). Yes I know it’s crazy, and yes I know SWGE will be open (that’s one of the reasons), but I consider myself a savvy WDW planner and will make it work!

For where to stay, I already knew I wanted to be in the Crescent Lake area due to avoiding buses on NYE as well as to get to/from SWGE (I also don’t want to rely on the Skyliner being open). Originally I planned on getting a Priceline express deal for Swolphin, but now I’m thinking I’d prefer to rent points and stay at DVC (either BCV or BWV studio). So I’m wondering exactly how quickly those get booked up? Like exactly at 11 months or would one still be available at 10 months? The main reason is because I will already be staying at each of those: BWV in December and then BCV in early February. So I sort of would like to see how I feel about each before I book another stay.

NYE books more quickly than any other night of the year. That's especially true for studios near the MK & EPCOT resorts. Those are unlikely to be available even a few days after the 11 month window opens.

Yes don't forget the 11 month window can actually occur before 11 months from Dec 31. For example a person planning to stay Dec 23 - Jan 2 gets to book their room for NYE on Nov 23.

I am pretty sure you can book those a bit earlier than 11 months, because its so many days from check in date??? so like maybe end of nov, this year? I don't know, I d call and ask. however, dvc studios will be gone hours after it opens.

Probably means that since NYE is so popular, members who begin their stays before yours will already have booked that night. NYE will probably be sold out for BCV & BWV before many even have a chance to book it. Especially true for those who are renting.

To echo what everyone else is saying I would probably make a reservation at the swan and dolphin. Getting a reservation near MK/EP/HS as a DVC renter on NYE will be extremely tough, DVC members get locked out.

I think I didn’t specify that I wasn’t just going for NYE-I would be arriving a few days earlier, likely the 28th. So hopefully that will up my chances. I have a direct contact with an owner so that could also help since I wouldn’t have to wait for a rental broker to arrange it.

If it is totally full then I will just go ahead with Swolphin. But at least I would be able to hold off on booking that until after I know about DVC.

Aah ok I see - I misunderstood, and thought they were saying DVC had started opening the 11 month window early for certain busy dates - I know I haven’t wanted to travel around Christmas for the last few years, but I thought I’d of heard if that had changed! Lol!
