DVC newbie with another points / booking question...

Hope someone can help me with this...I'm still a little confused on points. I rolled 97 points over to next year. I get another 100 points on April 1, 2011. I want to book a week for next October 2011. My 11 month window will be in November...since I rolled 97 points over to next year, am I still able to book for next October at the 11 month window with the 97 points or did I mess myself up? If I wait until April to book for October, I'm afraid it won't be available. I will probably book a studio at Old Key West, so I won't need the entire 97 points. Still a little confused on booking, windows, borrowing, etc...all I know is that I'm headed to Animal Kingdom first week of December for first DVC stay!!!

If they were April 2010 points, they are now good during your April 2011 UY.

You can book in Nov 2010 for that Oct 2011 trip using the 197 points you have in your April 2011 UY because that trip will fall in the April 2011 UY. It's not the points you have in your current UY to make that future UY reservation, it's the ones you will have available in that 2011 UY.

You can always book any trip 11 months in advance using home resort points.

It is not when you call that determines what points you can use, but when you travel.

So, if you travel in Oct 2011, you will be traveling in your 2011 UY. You can use 2010 banked points, 2011 points, and 2012 borrowed points if need be.

When you call MS in November, they will look to see what you have available for that travel period and book based on that. They should use up the 97 2010 banked points first before touching your 2011 UY points. But, it is always a good idea to confirm this when you are on the phone.

This is the part that confuses new members. If you look at the member website, those points are already in your account. Your account should show 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 points. There's no waiting for them to deposit to make a reservation. Any points you could possibly use are already there, based on the date of stay.
