DVC Mike Live from Disneyland (5/17-5/22/09)

What a great report!! Your pictures are always wonderful!! I really can not wait to plan a trip out there, but I am going to wait until my children are a little older.

Have a safe trip home!! :)

I had dinner at Rancho del Zocalo, which is a Mexican CS located in Frontierland. Not too bad for Disneyland.

Wow, I love places like this. It seems that there are more outdoor dining places at DL than at WDW

I think that's true--probably because the weather is much more temperate--not as much rain and humidity.

Thanks for the great report! Very enjoyable. Have a safe trip home. BTW..what was your special gift for DW?

WOW WOW WOW I am not ever through all of these pages but SO FAR I AM LOVIN ME SOME DL. :rotfl: OMG it looks like so much fun. You have done a great job with this trip report. I really want to take a trip to CA now. I am going to seriously look into a trip out there within the next 2 years. WOW

Thanksssssssssssssssssssssss for sharing :goodvibes

Thanks so much for taking the time to post this trip report! We're heading to the land in June and can't wait! Hoping I'll get pictures as great as yours!:flower3:

Have a safe trip home!

 Thank you soooooooo much DVC Mike! I practically grew up at DL but haven't been in a long time. You brought me back to my childhood. Have a safe trip home!

Okay Mike now you've done it ! - your trip report/photos have got DH & I doing ALOT of thinking now on a trip to DLR ( & DH would always say: '" with WDW why would we go all that way to DL ??? " :rotfl: .... may actually have won him over ;-> !! )

Thanks again Mike for great trip report :) & hope you're home safe by now :goodvibes

The kids & I owe you if we do
make trip there !!!
~Laura

Thanks for an awesome trip report. We are getting ready for our first trip to DLR and this has brought up my excitement level!

I think every fan of Walt Disney World who hasn’t made it out here should go at least once. Besides the rides at DLR that don’t exist at WDW, and the differences in other rides, it’s just a different experience. I really enjoyed how everything is clustered together, and how I can exit one way out of the GCH and be right in DCA, and exit another and be right in DTD. Disneyland Park is just steps away as well. Disneyland Park is not as large as the MK at WDW, but offers more attractions and is more intimate.

I totally agree. We are huge fans of WDW, but really loved our visit to DL too! It's different, and very cool!

DVC Mike- Your reviews are awesome. I grew up in So Cal, so even though we are now on the east coast, I try to find an excuse to visit my sister once a year! I love DL! I must admit that the castle seems alot smaller now that I have been going to WDW!!

BTW- Thanks for your advice on multiple contracts, I am now up to 4! I think your record of 20+ is safe (at least for now!!)

Thanks so much again....
I'm sold and looking to make plans for next April..
I just enjoy the way you take us along on your trips Mike, thanks so much for taking the time to do so.
Hope your wife is better and looking forward to another fantastic TR from DVC Mike
Stay Well and All the Best :flower3:

Got in late last night. I spent time at 4 different airports, each in a different time zone!

For those of you interested in planning a Disneyland vacation, I would recommend:

  • Birnbaum's Official Guide to Disneyland Resort
  • The Unofficial Guide to Disneyland
I'm already looking forward to my next trips (BCV in Oct, BLT in Dec, VWL in Jan, and AKV in March)!

I have got to really make it out to California one day and explore the DIsney of the WestCoast...BTW DVC Mike I think you are a real traveler

Just FYI--there is a rumor that Alladin may be going away in the future and replaced with a Toy Story show. So glad you got to see it while you can. And, a CM told us yesterday that the Genie character only has about five scripted lines. All the rest is ad libbed (for those that haven't seen it--the Genie makes the show IMHO).
We've seen the show several times and the Genie keeps it fresh. New jokes each time! (Love it!)

I always love your reports Mike. I really appreciate the peek at Disneyland and the new villas. We just don't get out there often enough.

I'm already looking forward to my next trips (BCV in Oct, BLT in Dec, VWL in Jan, and AKV in March)!

...and my office thinks I make too many trips to Disney, I think you have me beat.

It's good to hear you made it home safe and sound. I hope you DW is doing better.

did we ever find out what DW's special gift was?
