DVC Members and Pin Codes

My question is specifically for DVC members. I am aware there is a DVC board, but this one gets more traffic about codes and standard hotel stays.


Question: When you bought into DVC, did you stop receiving pin codes, postcards, special offers via email, etc other than Disney Destination emails with generic public offers?

Nope, in fact I've gotten more since I joined. I don't think the system that generates the PINs and offers knows who is a DVC member and who isn't. All it knows is that I'm not making cash reservations anymore, they've stopped getting my money, and they want me to 'come back'..

I still receive pin codes/special offers. It almost seems as if I receive them more often than before we became members. We've only taken advantage of one of the pin codes though. We had used all of our points, but wanted to take a quick surprise trip and I just so happened to get a pin code for the dates we wanted to travel.

I voted the second one. I get AP offers because I have one but I haven't seen PIN codes in a long time, I rarely got them before. I can't remember the last time I stayed in a regular hotel.

I asked a co-worker who bought into DVC about two years ago or so, and he said he noticed a drop in pins when he bought in.

I get quite a few PIN codes but for Disneyland not WDW. We live in Utah and bought at SSR. Wonder if our proximity to Disneyland makes a difference?

We dont receive pin codes anymore, but it has been over 2 years since we stayed in a cash room vs DVC room.

No actually I didn't start getting pins until after I purchased my dvc. go figure.

We've gotten them as Disney VISA card holders, but that is about it. And we haven't paid cash in many, many years for a room. We just use our points.

We bought into DVC in 2010. We immediately stopped receiving pin codes and postcards for both Disney World and Disneyland.

I asked my Tour Guide about it and she said the when somebody buys in, marketing removes them from standard mailings because they know you are going to come now.

i've only received 1 PIN offer, a less-than-stellar one as to buy X number of days for 2 free nights w/DP a few years ago.

didn't get any PIN luv before or after despite registering mutliple emails and doing all the other suggested things.

We've been members since the beginning, 1991, and don't get many pin codes at all. We do stay on cash at different Disney resorts if we don't want to use our points, but even then we don't get them. I think it's a hit or miss thing.

Same here! We started going as a couple in 2000, bought in 2002 and have NEVER gotten anything. Really ticks me off. We dn't have enough points for our stays so we have stayed on a lot of cash reservations using the ap discount. So for now, we are taking a break but I think when we go back, it will be DVC only stays and offsite stays since we don't use the ddp, me, or EMH.

got a few before the system merge - so DVC members who still receive them are very, very luck and probably live in one of those states that Disney seems to think deserves pins.....

has not gotten one since 2007.
