DVC Member Update

I am currently at WDW at BWV. Was thinking of going to The Member Update at SSR on Wednesday at 4PM. Has anyone ever gone to one? Who runs it? Is it for new info, feedback from us, or what? Is it worth going to?
Any info would be appreciated.

We went several weeks ago, and I hate to say it... but it was a total waste of time.

The only things they discussed were the new attractions at the Disney parks. I think most of us on the boards know more than the "average Joe" so I found it very boring. I thought the infomation that they gave out would be more useful for someone who is thinking of buying into DVC, not someone who has been a member for awhile. It seemed like more of a "share your experiences with fellow members" session, rather than a informational meeting about how your membership could benefit you.

I was hoping that they would discuss different locations that we could trade into, but that wasn't even a topic they discussed. In fact, they barely even touched on DCL.

In all fairness though, I think we had a new presentor because she seemed pretty nervous. So maybe you will have better luck if you decide to attend.

It sounds like maybe you had the same presenter we did at the meeting that DH and I attended in late January. We also thought the event was a disappointment. We didn't hear anything we didn't already know and even though the presenter said she would take questions, she only took one and as I recall, she didn't know the answer.

One good thing did happen at that meeting, however. I met fellow DISer dvc_john on our way out!

We went to one Last Feb and like others have said, being a DISer I already knew most of what they talked about. The only thing that made it worth going is both DH and I won door prizes. He won a bag of DVC goodies and I won a DVC watch! Other than that it was boring, we probably won't go again.
