We have been DVC members for 4 years now. Some of the "Pixie dust has worn off.I have a few ideas about how Members should be reconizied by dvc.

The members who use thier points every year for themselves should be awarded some kind of bonus. This would be for actual owners not traded or rented points. It would be set up like a hotel honered guest program or frequent flyer program.Guests would be awarded points for every additional dollar spent at Disney.

I think that DVC members spend alot of money in Disney and should be rewarded for thier loyalty.

I belong to several hotel, rental car and credit card programs. They are all free and reward loyal customers.

Loews hotels for example offers a free daily newspaper and free welcome gift upon check in.(Bottle of wine ,Fruit basket etc.)
How about a sepearte or express check in for DVC members??

I am not asking for a free week or anything real expensive. just a little something for our loyalty.

Has anyone ever felt that the CM's inhotels cater to Cash guests?

What do you think??

I agree that it would be nice to get some recognition from DVC. Maybe in these "lean" times they will start some type of program.

The express check-in is actually something that has come and gone. They did have a special check-in for members before OKW started having more members than non-members. The reasoning is, everyone would be in the "express" line.

I don't think there's any way that DVC can track who is and isn't personally using their points. There isn't any fairness in rewarding a member who rents their DVC points for use at WDW and penalizing a member who personally uses their points for a Concierge stay.

I imagine the "reward" system is going to be based on the Visa card. The Visa will track member spending and will probably be the basis for any future rewards.

I don't think that CMs actually treat cash guests any better or worse than members. On any given day, one CM may give extra attention to a DVC member and the next day spend the extra effort for a cash guest.

IMHO, we have our frequent user award: we have the use of wonderful facilities for 39 more years, at a cost that overall is MUCH less than staying at one of the other resorts for an equal amount of time.

I can think of all kinds of things that I would love to have DVC offer us, but I just don't think it's going to happen.

And, has been pointed out in another thread, these things all cost money. Since WE are the owners, WE would end up paying for them one way or another.

Now, I'm not saying that if they were to offer something, I wouldn't take advantage of it. ;) But I just don't think we're owed anything.

But what operating budget would pay for the welcome gift?

It would have to be the DVC resort's operating budget. That means we'd pay for it through our annual dues.

No thank you. If I want a bottle of wine or a box of chocolates on check-in day, I'll buy my own.

DVC is not a hotel; it's a timeshare. A hotel does whatever it can to fill as many rooms as possible at the highest rate possible. A timeshare charges its owners actual operating expenses, plus a management fee (profit) that's typically around 2%. A timeshare has an obligation to deliver services efficiently and to minimize increases.

When I stay at a Marriott timehshare, I get a "free" USA Today every morning -- but I know that I'm actually paying for it through my annual fee.
