In looking through some "Navigator" issues from past DCL cruises, I notice that there is a DVC "Member Celebration" during the cruise. For anyone who may have attended one of these in the past, what goes on? Is is just a glorified add-on sales pitch, or is it an informational update? Is it worth attending?

Thanks for any input...

I have attended on while on my last cruise and it is a sales pitch, but they also play games and have raffles to give away dvc items. you may pick up a rumor or two or hear about a part of DVC you never knew. I went and ended up with a beach towel and sun visors. i wouldn't go out of my way to attend, but it was pretty nice to attend and leave with some free items. they give you some stuff just for showing up. They have a few scheduled during the cruise so some may just be for DVC members, while others may be for people intrested in purchasing. I enjoyed meeting some new DVC guides during the presentation and agian they give out gifts for showing up as well as prizes.

We have attended one of these and to some degree it is a sales pitch for add-ons. I wouldn't call it very informational but they did give away some nice gifts (we all received DVC baseball caps and luggage tags). They had some food and did some fun DVC trivia games. Overall we had a good time and was surprised to see how many DVC members were on our cruise.

Thanks docg and HBC. It sounds like it might be worth dropping in on as long as it doesn't conflict with any other activity I have planned. It would be nice to meet other DVC members on the cruise, and a chance to obtain some free DVC trinkets is always appreciated! :teeth:
