I could have sworn I read something somewhere about a DVC lounge in one of the resort threads but now I can't seem to find any info so I'm hoping someone can help clear it up for me.

Do the resorts have lounges specifically for DVC members? If so, what is in them?

I think AKL is the only resort that lists DVC at Club Level. Is that right? Is it the same Club Level as for a regular rate room or is it a different area?

Thanks in advance.

The only DVC only lounge is the new one in EPCOT. Top of the World Lounge is only available to DVC members or those staying at Bay Lake Towers. So it is almost a DVC only lounge.

AKV-Jambo is the only current DVC resort at WDW with Club Level. It is on the same level with the regular Club Level. Rumors are that they will convert some of the Wilderness Lodge club level to DVC too.

Thanks! What's in the Top of the World Lounge? I went over to the BLT thread in the Resorts section but didn't see any link to a section for it.

It a bar with some bar snacks and a great place to see the fireworks from the magic kingdom. Also has an outdoor 'roof top' deck.

Bill is quite right. And I'll add that they pump in the sound for Wishes both inside and out so you get a great view of Magic Kingdom and Wishes without dealing with the thousands of people on Main Street USA. The outdoor deck is large but it can get crowded along the wall so you'll want to get there a little early. Just bring your DVC card with you to check in at the TOTWL desk in the BLT lobby.

While the view of the fireworks is nice but the best vantage point is in the park. From TOTWL you are off to one side and can't see all of the lower fireworks or the castle projections.

In the DVC member benefits it states that TOTWL is available to any DVC member stay at a DVC resort on property. But threads like this have stated otherwise...does anyone know the actually policy? Was hoping to take my wife there in September.

It is for any DVC member. You simply show your DVC member card at the desk in lobby and you are free to head up. This also goes for any guests traveling in your party if they aren't DVC. Enjoy!

From the member website (under BLT):
Discover a soothing space to unwind at Top of the World Lounge, located at Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. One of the vacation kingdom’s most exclusive spaces, this lounge is available only to Members and those in their traveling party who are staying on that Member's reservation. It’s an ideal place to savor light bites and refreshing cocktails—and unforgettable views.

Disney Vacation Club Members staying at any Disney-owned-and-operated hotel at Walt Disney World Resort (whether they booked with Vacation Points or cash) may enjoy access to one of the vacation kingdom's most exclusive spaces: Top of the World Lounge atop Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort through December 29, 2016.

Blockout dates apply for Top of the World Lounge, including but not limited to: July 3, 2016; July 4, 2016; December 30, 2016; December 31, 2016. Current operating hours are 6:00 PM to midnight.

Accessing the Lounge

This perk is available exclusively to Members. People who are in that Member’s traveling party and staying on that Member’s reservation are also eligible to visit Top of the World Lounge. At least one Member in the traveling party must accompany the group and present his or her current MagicBand or Key to the World card with a Disney Vacation Club Membership notation in order to gain admission to the lounge and observation deck. If the Member's MagicBand or Key to the World card doesn't display a Membership notation, a Disney Vacation Club Membership Card is also required to verify Membership.

Parking & Transportation

Parking is only available to those staying at Bay Lake Tower or Disney's Contemporary Resort. Members traveling from other Resorts must use Walt Disney World Transportation.

Upon arrival, Members must walk to the Bay Lake Tower main lobby entrance on the ground floor and check in at the Top of the World Lounge desk in the lobby.

Availability

This special access to Top of the World Lounge is available on a first-come, first-served basis until the lounge reaches capacity. As the lounge is particularly popular during the Magic Kingdom fireworks, arriving as early as possible will give Members the best chance of gaining admission.

Top of the World lounge is an exceptional perk of membership......which means it will be gone within a couple of years ;)

In my experience, you need to have your MB checked as well.

I especially like firework viewing on the restricted days, July 3,4 & Dec 30,31! It is great not to fight traffic and crowds, and still enjoy the fireworks.

This past 3rd we were at TTOTW, but for the 4th we did Epcot, and Epcot was amazing! After the fireworks, they played the music for "Proud to be an American" and most people stood and sang it! Afterwards as we walked out, they played some old fashioned songs like "Daisy, Daisy." So, there is a reason to actually get in a park on the special dates.

Also, I have met some very nice DVC members in person up there! Going up there is a perk we use a lot!

I think you are right, so that they know you are all in the same party. We are excited to check it out when we visit for Thanksgiving, will probably catch a show up top with beverages!

I had the opportunity earlier this month to use the Member Lounge in Epcot with my two children. It was a nice break out of the elements to get a drink and actually they have computers and Ipad's there so I actually was able to book my 2017 trip in-between FP+ attractions. Only disappointment was you have to leave to use the restrooms.
