Wife and I are finalizing a resale purchase right now. But, we are so excited to see what we bought we just booked flights to Orlando over a long Labor Day weekend.

Question is:

If we call DVC member services do they offer any incentives such as a free/discounted stay or free/discounted park tickets to do the tour and explore a Direct add on....?

Wasn't sure if the plethora of knowledge on here ever heard of anything like this being done.

Idea would be to call up DVC Member Services and explain our grand interest and see what they put on the table to entice us down there to tour, purchase, see what we bought :) etc...

Thank you much,
Brad

If your name is not yet in their system awaiting closing of a resale contract then they might offer a $50 Gift Card and Fast Passes if you book a tour otherwise not sure if they would offer you any incentives besides current ones for adding on.

Technically you wouldn't call MS, MS makes reservations and services your DVC account. DVD, Disney Vacation Development is who sells DVC contracts. You can book a tour by calling on your room phone or seeing an ASA at any of the DVC kiosks.

What is the current price per point at Copper Creek. Currently an owner but looking to add points!

I'm a little confused here. Are you planning on adding on to your resale? Or are you just trying to get some "freebies" from a "pretend" interest in DVC? The most we've ever been given was an ice cream sundae and some fast passes. Back in the day you would be credited a weeks stay when purchasing a contract...I think it was 150 points or so. First purchasers at Old Key West got 10 years of park admission. Bay Lake Tower first purchasers got the choice of a free stay at Saratoga Springs or a European trip. We also got an annual pass for a large Saratoga Springs purchase. So....no, don't think you are going to be showered with any kind of freebies or discounts....but if you do get something, please post here and let us all know!

Yeah, DVC is definitely not in the same league as the Sheratons et al down the road that offer park tickets and discounted stays to check out their timeshare product. They were offering a slightly discounted stay at Copper Creek via mail to some potential purchasers, but think $400/night instead of $450/night, as opposed to a traditional timeshare presentation price.

Well hey free ice cream is great :)

Yea, we should close on our resale purchase just before we go. Plan was to do tour and see if we could add on 25 pts direct same UY at our home resort.

There's definitely no "pretend interest", it's legit. Just wasn't sure what they offered. Heck, I'd be happy with fast passes so we don't have to wait so long to ride Avatar-Flight of Passage.

Labor Day weekend here we come!

I received this promotion in the mail. It’s a 5 night stay in a 1 bedroom villa at Copper Creek for $2000. Travel Dates 8/20/17 – 12/14/17, some blackout dates apply. For the dates I picked in December it the difference between $644/ per night (rack rate) versus $400 per night.

If you purchase 175 points or more at Copper Creek, the cost of accommodations will be subtracted from the membership price.

The FPs won't be good for FOP so don't hang your hopes on that and a 25 point add-on isn't huge so I don't think they will be throwing freebies at you to get you to buy. If you are serious about the 25 point add on, call your guide up right before you leave so they can prepare the paper work for you to sign once you get there. So much easier then just sitting around while they get that done. Ask them to throw in a few FPs when you meet with your guide.

I didn't think members were able to get incentives once they own.

thats what we received years ago, free ice cream, 50 anytime/ride use fast passes and credited a weeks stay.

we are in the process of finalizing contract for Poly. We got the $1,760 credit in the form of 10 "free points for life" We pay for 175 and get 185 points a year. we pay dues on those 10 points but i feel its fine.

one other thing we got was an OCT use year and our guide is giving us the Oct2016-Sept2017 points to bank into the 2017 points. so we are going to go for a "free" 185 point stay in 2018 (before oct) with those points. nice to not have to technically borrow to go in 2017 year :)

Just to clarify for any others reading - DVC sells current points with contracts. An October UY is in it's 2016 UY as are Sept and Dec (there is no Nov UY). All other UY's have started their 2017 UY and 2017 points are current. When you purchase direct if you are past the banking deadline you are still allowed to bank those current points.

We have done the tour twice. July 2016 and July 2017. In 2016 we did the tour at Saratoga Springs and received a $100 gift card, ice cream and 3 fast passes per person. Last month we did the tour at Wilderness Lodge to see the new Copper Creek rooms and cabins. We received a $100 gift card, and 3 fast passes per person, no ice cream this time. The fast passes are limited and not available for Flight of Passage, Peter Pan, Seven Dwarves and a couple others. We were not DVC members at the time of either of these tours.

Really? I'm doing the tour at SSR on 9/1/17. I'd love to get a $100 gift card. Guide mentioned fast passes but no Gift card.

Guides are budgeted their give-aways and they don't give what they don't have to. Guides who sell more get more to give away. It's about selling to new buyers, not giving gifts to looky-loos.
