I was just wondering if there is a DVC at the DLP? We own at OKW at WDW and I thought it would be nice to stay an evening if they have one at DLP. I didn't see one in the guide book.

There are no DVC villas but you can use your DVC points towards a stay at any of the DLRP hotels. We have done that in the past.

I'm looking to use points for a mid-July visit but unfortunately for me DLP is currently booking up to the 1st of July. I was forced to book cash so as to secure my flight since there's absolutely no guidance from DLP to DVC as to when later dates will be released. It seems as if communication between both parties are inconsistent in this regard. I have until 3/31 to bank my points, so if dates aren't released prior to that I may have to end up sticking to my cash booking. Very frustrating indeed.

Cheers,
Luis

I would bank the points. Then when they release the dates, borrow points from next year's allotment to make your reservations. I don't think you need to get so frustrated. Relax!!

Is it more effective use of point to just pay cash for the room anyways? What is the points per nite at a hotel in DLP?

I would need 158 points for 5 nights at NB, which on the open market in the US would rent for about $10 per point. The savings to me booking with points would be @ $1700, taking into account that I'd be obligated to purchase length of stay passes in the exchange. I have the points to use since I will not be visiting the US parks in 2009. Dave is correct, I can bank them into 2010 but would have to use those points before August of that year or loose them. I'm just not sure when I'll be vacationing in 2010 so I don't want to put myself at a disadvantage. The January-July 1st dates for 2009 were released to DVC Dec 14th. If this holds up they may not release July's dates and beyond until May or June. That's just not enough time to sort out all of the details for your typical traveler from abroad.

From what I understand the Marriott village was meant to be DVC and was designed by the imagineers but for some reason it became a Marriott instead?
