Okay, I called on Monday because I FINALLY got DH to agree to purchase. So, of course, I am so excited to start the process. I have already received the package and taken the tour (1-year ago). I was assigned a DVC Guide from the main number and I talked to him for a few minutes and mentioned the referral incentive which he seemed surprised that I knew about. I gave him the name of a kindly DIS person and told him I was ready to get the ball rolling. I am willing to give him the $500 deposit now and start the fun. First of all, he was very professional and business like (a little disinterested though) - but I want someone fun who will be excited with me. He wouldn't let me start the process immediately and insisted on sending out another package. Can I switch guides since I haven't given any money or sent in any paperwork? Also, if I can switch, does anyone have a guide they want to refer who is not going to cut me off during my questions and who is not going to act like they are bored with me? :confused3

We toured in July and our guide was Larissa Pendergrast. She was fantastic. Very knowledgeable and friendly. She had a great sense of humor. I really did not feel the pressure either. We really had no plans to buy. We were just "looking" when we went in. Larissa was very laid back. She would give us time to talkk alone. I am not sure if you can change, but I would think it was your choice. Good luck on your purchase. Hope to welcome you home soon:earsgirl:

try Judy Kaufman 1-800-827-7163.

she is very nice.

now by law I think you have to read the package before they can start the process (I think).

the way Disney does it - the first guy you talked to will always be your guide unless you complaint directly to the manager.

I don't have his number and I can't even tell you his name. :confused3

Your guide can't just take a deposit over the phone, you have to review and sign the contract first. At least that's how it worked when we bought from Disney a few months ago. We were ready to do the same thing, put it in a credit card, but you have to go through the proper steps no matter which guide you have.

I gave a $500 deposit over the phone last week, hadn't signed a thing yet. Received the big package yesterday. I could have out the whole deposit amount down at that time but I wanted to wait until all paperwork was done.

I had called my guie a few weeks ago though to touch base when the referral started and she sent me a new DVD/sales guide. Maybe spiceycat's right... you have to have perused the sales material? Seems weird but... who knows.

Hi, How are you?

I am so glad I could help out :)

She is wonderful!

We called on Monday and put our deposit down - nothing signed yet - all was done over the phone. If you put your deposit and referral in before Feb 1 you will receive discount. If you wait - or are told to wait for whatever reason - you may lose this chance. There may be a legal requirement for you to be in person - it is the law of your place of residence that may be the issue.

I called DVC directly and spoke with a guide. I never toured. I wanted to guarantee my F&F deal, and he asked for a $500 deposit via credit card or any amount over that to start the deal. He then sent the package out to me. He did have to go over somethings on the phone the day I gave the deposit. He was not a real ball of fire either. I am like Tigger and he is like Eeyore. This is an exciting time for me and I would have liked some enthusiasm. At one point when he did not return my calls, the person who answered the phone told me she put a message on his answering machine that if he did not return my call by 7pm that she was going to give me a new guide. He called an hour later...hummm. BTW, do they work on commission?

I agree that Michelle Macalister is wonderfull, what surprises me is that even after not speaking to her in a while she remembers my name, and everything about me and my family (hobbies work etc) . :cool1:

I have a wonderful guide. Her name is Jenna Mezza, she is quick with replies, and really makes you love Disney more when you are speaking with her. She is one guide who does not just work for Disney, she LOVES Disney also!!! She also remembers her families that she works with, and enjoys it when you stop in to say Hello! :sunny: :sunny: Katiemugs2

. . . and we really like him, too. Low key in a way that makes you feel no pressure, but also enthusiastic enough to make you want to purchase. When we purchased we felt like it was all our idea and he was just presenting. Like I said, no pressure. He even suggested we'd be banking points. Haven't really yet except for the incentive points we got when we did the add on. LOL

His number is 1-800-827-1474

He's not bored or disinterested. He just wants you to feel comfortable because he knows if it's right for you you'll purchase.

He also keeps in contact sometimes as a personal touch and sometimes with news about add ons.

Our guide is Karen Guyder and she's wonderful also. When we're at WDW she always calls just to say HI and ask if we need anything. Most times we're not in and she just leaves a voice mail for us, but, it's nice. We also have stopped in at the sales office just to say Hi. She is very good about remembering certain things about her clients, also. Having worked in sales myself I appreciate that, since it does take some time and effort to remember something or a few things about every client. AND, she DOES get as excited as her clients. She loves Disney also and it shows.
