I was doing a search online and found something about being able to order groceries through Disney to your villa. It was a printable order form that you then faxed to the resort before your stay. The post was from 2008, was resort specific, and stated there was a $5 service charge. Does anyone know if this is still available?
I have read a lot about garden grocer and we go shop, but this was the first I had heard of this.
Thanks!

Yes you can. Login to the dvc Memb website and you can download it from there and the forms are resort specific

We have ordered groceries via the DVC website many times and it has been a wonderful time saver! The items that need refrigeration are in your frig..no need to worry about that! I highly recommend it whether you have a big list of items or just a few things to get you through the next few days...Also, if you arrive at the resort late then you don't have to worry about getting to the store in time before it closes...your items are already in your villa!

I am researching grocery delivery now and the Disney resort one is expensive. I simply compared the price of Dasani water. At Disney, it's $2+ a bottle while a 24 pack is $7.99 at garden grocer then $8.99 for 32 pack.

In terms of delivery charge, it's $5 at resort but I saw a note that it will be $10 by the time of our trip, June 1, 2011. Garden Grocer is charging for $12 for up to $200.

The price for the resort items seems to be same price they have at the gift shops. I think it's ok for few items.

We have never done Disney's grocery service, but have always had a good experience with Garden Grocer!

The one time I used the DVC grocery "delivery" was at VWL. We arrived later in the evening and the groceries were not delivered to our room. In fact, we were sent to 3 different places to track them down. We finally found them at the WL store the next morning. Two of the items we ordered they didn't have in stock, so tough luck-they did deduct those missing items from the price.

One other bothersome thing is that when you fax your order there is no real confirmation that it was received from Disney, other than the usual fax machine confirmation that it was sent. Not sure if I would try it again.

I've never actually used the order form, but it's a no-brainer that you're being charged Disney prices. This is where shipping a box of non perishables (even some water and soft drinks... just read the UPS guidelines for packaging such items) is very cost effective. For a $20 ups charge you can save a bundle compared to Disney prices. Then if you want to use the grocery service, just use it for the refridgerated items... or just pick up what you need at the resort store (same price I believe).

...and another tip to my previous post. Maybe just ship say 6? or so bottles of water and recycle (or pack refillable ones) and pack a Brita pitcher. I've had mine for 9yrs now and it goes with me on every trip.. not just Disney!
