We decided that we are not doing off site grocery because we only need breakfast foods. So, I decided to use the resorts b/c we are switching resorts after our 1st night and will be at the parks all day and don't want to worry about getting stuff for the am when we get back. My question is if we use the resort delivery will they leave it in our villa if we are not there? Anyone used the grocery delivery?

Disney resort delivery will leave the food in your room. Be mindful that you are paying a premium for the service.

When you say we are paying a premium are you saying the prices are higher than what I would pay in the store of the resort? I thought it was the prices that they are in the store with just a $5 delivery fee? Or do you mean premium compared to grocery store prices? Anyone compare the store prices to the prices on the grocery order form? Are they the same? Thanks!

The prices at the Disney stores are high, that's what I meant.
The Disney stores also have a limited selection.

We have purchased from all sources on and off site and after going to WDW for many years, several times a year, we rent a car and do our own shopping. Even if it's just for one day.

While we almost always have a car, and agree that a trip to a real grocery store is best, there folks who don't want to take the time to rent a car and drive to a store. If they oly need a few basic breakfast items, the resort stores would be convenient...but like most conveniences, it is more expensive.

We used the Garden Grocer for our last visit. We were pleasantly surprised. The prices were reasonable and the service was excellent.

I have usually just done a grocery delivery service. But, I decided to actually compare costs....grocery delivery service vs buying at the store at the resort. I actually would spend less if I just buy what I need at the Screen Door at BW. When I put in an order for delivery I always seem to be adding something, and those are the things that I end up tossing at the end of the trip. So, in Dec, I"m just going to get the things I need at the Screen Door.
Now, the time I was able to hitch a ride to the grocery store with a friend was the best solution...no delivery charges, no tips...I could physically choose what I wanted right then. Of course, I still ended up tossing stuff out at the end of our stay.

Can anybody tell me what the delivery charges are when placing an order through Garden Grocer??

Hoping to do this for our first "trip home" this May. Unless it's ridiculously expensive!

The delivery fee is $12 if the order is under $200...free if over. I was really surprised their prices were so reasonable. We ordered breakfast foods, snacks, sandwich items, fruit, lots of juice, water, soft drinks, etc. (for 3 people) and our order was under $100.

We always use the DVC grocery delivery. We usually only get breakfast stuff and snack foods. Sure the prices are higher, but not only do they deliver, but they put it all away for you too! We do bring some nonperishable foods in an extra suit case (coffee, laundry detergent, etc). Then when we travel back home, we have space for all the t-shirts, etc that we purchased while in Disney. We usually fly Southwest so our bags fly free.princess:
