The word on the DVC boards is that folks who purchased in DL are receiving cards saying the California purchasers window is 1/25/09-3/25/09. Any DL board DVC'rs receive the same card?

I can't wait to go home and check the mail. There really is a Santa!!! :santa:

Yes, we got ours in the mail today. :) We will be calling our guide to find out the information even though we don't plan on buying. We just don't see needing the 11 month window as locals. We are mainly interested in our point charts to see how they compare to the other DVC resorts.

Where would i go to find out info about that??? i would love to get one there

I didn't know they announced a date. Woo hoo! I am bummed cause we wont buy in there although I would LOVE it. But hopefully since economy is bad we'll be able to book at 7 months there in a year or two :)

We might all be surprised how long points are available there. I don't think the majority of DVC'rs are as excited at DVC GC as those of us are who live in the west. :santa:

I got the letter too. I already talked to my guide and she didn't have any other info right now and didn't know when they would get it. Soon I am guessing since it is only a month away though!

We got the letter on 12/23. I am so excited. The word is the guides don't know anything (regarding points, incentives, etc) so we just have to wait and see. I can't wait.

That is true, that and this economy might make them available for longer than they thought when construction began. I am super excited though!!

I didn't get a card yet..maybe they just went out to those who bought at DLR and are eligible for the early buying window? I'm going to be nervous for two months hoping some are still available March 26!

They never even said anything about it to us and we went to do the Member Tour of the model homes on the 23rd.

You'd think they would want to say something, as we are a great target market. No card in the mail for us yet.

BTW - the models are simply beautiful! They are even better than the regular hotel rooms. The wood inlays on the headboards of the hotel's rose theme are exquisite! The bathrooms are themed to Pinnochio, with Cleo being the primary character in the border - done in the A&C style.

Wow.....

So, can just anyone tour these? We did a tour a couple years ago, well before they were starting construction at GCH. We didn't buy in then but we are interested now...not sure if we can do it but we would like to see.

I got my letter on Christmas Eve (although didn't open it until Christmas Day--what a present!) and talked to my guide this morning, who was unaware these letters had gone out. He is trying to get point cost and point chart info and is supposed to call me as soon as he gets it. (I believe the letters only went to the "founding members" at this point.)

I thought it was kind of strange that both my DH & I received the letter. We have two master contracts, but only one is under the Founding Member program. My DH put my letter in my stocking!

I asked about sales while in the park last week and the representative said she wasn't sure and hadn't heard anything. Hmmmm.

Our mail from vacation week is supposed to be delivered today, so maybe we have something to read! I'd have to leave the warmth of the house and hike in the snow to get to the mailbox. It's a toss up.

:goodvibes

I am off to check my mail box to see if I got one too but it may not be for everyone, just a few of you "special" ones. But I am already a DVC member and live in CA which would make me a great customer. But anyway, if we were to buy more points, I think it would have to be in GC or in Hawaii so I may want to wait and see what Hawaii has to offer.

Is anyone else feeling the same way?

Count me in as one of those who was gung-ho about buying the first day I could, but after thinking about it, I'm not so sure anymore....

We got the letter today and are seriously considering buying. However, we want to hear about point cost and incentives first. With the economy being the way it is, it may not make sense to buy more points at this time. Would be nice though.

The few 'special ones' that you refered to are DVC members who are founding members.

GCV is first being offered to Founding Members, which are DV members who bought a DVC contract in Calif. (as opposed to buying a DVC contract while they were in FLA). After March 25th, GCV will be offered to all DVC members, and sometime after that, it will be offered to the general public.

Thanks for the info! I guess I am a founding member because I did purchase my membership while in DL. I still have not checked my mailbox:eek:
