DVC Fishing Tournament at CR on Thursday Mornings

Has anyone participated in the DVC bass fishing tournament that is held Thursday mornings and leaves from the Contemporary boat dock. I am told there is a max of 4 per boat and a limited number of boats. The CM told me there are some small prizes. I would love to hear some feedback from someone who has participated. I have one DS that isn't exactly thrilled to be going to Disney, but is very happy if he can go fishing there.

I would love to do this on a future trip, if I could only pry myself (and family) from a rope drop for a day!

Yes! My husband and 8 year old son just did this in March. They loved it! There are trophies for most fish caught and largest fish caught. My son won for the largest fish. He was thrilled! Both of them said their guide was terrific and they are looking forward to doing this again.

Sounds like something my DH would enjoy - he is definitely a WDW fan but bass fishing is a passion. Where does one find information on the tournament? We will be celebrating his birthday during our visit in June and this just might be the perfect gift.

I am a Disney Vacation Club (DVC) member and found this activity on the member website so I booked through member services. I do not know if this is just a DVC thing or something available to all guests. The CM I spoke with had a little trouble finding the activity and first tried to book us on a bass boat fishing activity which would have been way more expensive.
