DVC Disneyland – Best Kept Secret!

I always thought the best kept secret marketing campaign was a little goofy, but I didn’t realize how true it was until we went to Disneyland last week. There is a list of member perks that are available at Disneyland, California Adventure, and Downtown Disney but most cast members don’t know anything about it. On our first day, we had several places tell us they didn’t accept the discount. After that we made sure to bring our perks page with us so we could show cast members (and their managers) what we were talking about. We had the manager of one Downtown Disney restaurant ask to photocopy our card because they didn’t know what it looked like.

Is there a list of these somewhere? I hope I have all of that info for when I go in October. I'm just now looking over all the menus, etc... trying to determine where we are going eat and being able to get 10%+ will help out a bit!!!

Deluxe Annual Passport
The Deluxe Annual Passport includes 320 pre-selected days of admission to both Disneyland Theme Parks and unlimited enjoyment of attractions (except arcades and midway games) during regular operating hours*. Please note that this Passport does have blockout dates.

Premium Annual Passport
The Premium Annual Passport provides you with an entire year of Disney magic and adventures, with no blockout dates*.

Who is eligible to receive the discount?

Disney Vacation Club Members receive a discount on the Pass for themselves and their immediate family residing in the same household only. At the time of purchase or redemption, your Disney Vacation Club Member ID Card must be provided and ALL ADULTS must present a valid driver's license or state identification card showing they reside in the same household.


Who is defined as "immediate family"?
"Immediate family" is defined by Disneyland Resort for discount purposes as noted below:

Mother-In-Law/Father-In-Law

Can I use my discount to buy an Annual Passport for someone other than myself or immediate family residing in the same household?
No. This discount is for Members and may not be transferred. This perk may be revoked in the event of abuse.

I just purchased or renewed my Disneyland Deluxe or Premium Annual Passport. Can I receive a discount or credit for that purchase?
The discount is effective only for purchases on or after May 5, 2005, and does not apply to previous purchases.

Is there an expiration date for taking advantage of this Member Perk?
All Member Perks are incidental and subject to change or termination at anytime (refer to your Member Benefits Guidebook). All offers are evaluated on an on-going basis.

AMC® Theatres
Feel young at heart when you purchase Adult tickets at Child ticket prices (Tuesdays only) or Student ticket prices (Mondays, and Wednesdays through Sundays). Members can save even more on discounted concession combos available every day.

Disneyland Dining Perks

Note: All restaurant discounts do not include gratuities, tax, and alcoholic beverages, unless noted otherwise. Some discounts are not valid on major US holidays. Restaurants located within Disneyland Park or Disney's California Adventure™ Park require valid Theme Park admission. All discounts are valid for a party size not to exceed 8 people (including the Member). Priority Seating reservations (where accepted) are encouraged. Hours of operation for lunch and dinner seatings at each location vary slightly.




Disneyland Priority Seating

Priority Seating offers you the opportunity to select an available priority seating time at select Disneyland restaurants. When you arrive at the restaurant, you will be seated at the first available table that accommodates your party size (usually within 15 minutes). All Members are encouraged to make Priority Seating arrangements as they may significantly reduce your wait. Of course, "walk ins" are always welcome at Disneyland table-service restaurants (based on availability). Priority Seating may be made up to 60 days in advance by calling Disney Dining at (714) 781-DINE (3463). The Disney Dining number also can be reached from any Disneyland phone by dialing x3463 or *86 from any Resort payphone.

We had the same experience on our 7-18 thru 7-24 visit. I had brought the perks page with me because I was getting confused as to who was offering what. Between the Visa card (20% off select tours, free picture and also a merchandise discount, AAA (20% off select tours), The DVC Discounts (assorted) and the Premium AP, I couldn't keep 'em all straight
No one was aware of the DVC discounts until I brought it to their attention.
I did ask the fellow who was staffing the DVC desk at the GC if he thought it would get better. He said, they were having trouble educating CMs as to what DVC was--let alone getting the word out about the discounts. .... He did say they were planning to print up a quick reference guide to the DVC perks to give to guests when checking in (similar to what they give out at WDW).
