DVC Discounts VS. DC Discounts

I am sure this has been discussed before but everytime I try to do a search I get kicked out!!!!! I'm hoping to go to WDW next thanksgiving, my DC expires in September, and with it ending in December seems silly to renew for 3 months. But suprisingly we do get some good discounts and the card has paid for itself. I don't need tickets for my next trip, the discounts at the stores in Downtown Disney are nice, and the coupons for % off at some of the restaurants a great. Do we get any discounts like that with DVC?? Like discounts renting water mice, bikes, shopping, etc???

We get some restaurant and activity discounts, the list is on the DVC website. The other discounts we get that won't be on that list are things like Golf, water parks and the UMP 10% discount. OF course we still get the Disney Store discount but not on tickets. There's also the recreation plan where for a one time fee you get use of the boats, water mice, bikes. Others will know more about it but I've been told it's like $199 for LOS regardless of how long for up to 5 adults. It's only good at the one location so you can't go to YC one time and WL another.

As Dean mentioned, the complete list is available on the Member's site and you'll also get a list at check-in.

There are DVC discounts on water activities at the Contemporary (waterskiing, kneeboarding, parasailing), golf, mini-golf, most all WDW Tours, spa treatments, Disney Quest and many restaurants throughout WDW. Few, if any, store discounts are available onsite however.

I think the plan Dean mentions is available to anyone, not just DVC members.

You should renew. The cost is pro-rated for the time the card will be good. We renewed ours a few days ago and it exp at the end of Jan 03 and were told the cost would be $27.45 This 11/12 x 29.95. So the cost for you to renew would be ~ $7.49 ( for 3 months)
