DVC Discounts at resorts when paying cash

I am a DVC newbie. We just bought in this July and just got back from our first DVC trip.

Could someone please tell me what, if any, discounts DVC members get when paying cash for a room instead of using points. I'd like to know the discounts for both DVC resorts and other Disney resorts (non-DVC).

I'm sure I could look this information up, but you guys are so knowledgeable that I figured it would be easier to just ask here.

There are no DVC discounts for non-DVC resorts. There is a 25% discount for DVC resorts when paying cash and reserving through Member Services, but that depends on availability and it is usually difficult to get a room by that method.

Thanks. I figured that was the case with non-DVC resorts. I'm an annual passholder and Disney Club member (until it runs out), so if I ever wanted to pay for a room I would get some discounts that way.

For some reason, I thought the discount at DVC resorts was 40%, but I'm not sure where I read or heard that. I'm sure the 25% figure is more accurate.

There have been times when CRO had AP rates at DVC resorts which were discounted as much as 40%. MS will usually match that rate if questioned about it (and IF it's available for the dates in question).

This may not relate to what you're asking but some of the DVC discounts and perks are available to members whether staying on points or not. These include the valet parking, restaurant discounts and the like.
